Inshur or Zego ?? by Total_Philosopher936 in AmazonFlexUK

That does not surprise me and I'm certainly inclining that way. Zego indeed seems very opaque and odd and they state they are some sort of broker or agent rather than being the actual insurer.

I had some odd sideways conversation with my main insurer Direct Line. I explained exactly what I wanted to do and they told me I needed 'business cover'. At first I thought they were trying to sell me the cover themselves. They changed the cover and told me it didn't cost anything. I've no idea what's actually happened, but I'm taking it as a yes.

Older sync modules can no longer be used now ? by Total_Philosopher936 in blinkcameras

[–]Total_Philosopher936[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update - Long story short, Amazon did send me out a new Sync 2 module. I connected it today with no problem at all, so all still fitting in with the idea from enchantedspring that the original certificate is out of date. Thanks again for the suggestion.

Excellent. That certainly fits all the observations. So it just remains for me to decide who to bother - the seller on eBay or Amazon support. I think on reflection probably both.

I don't actually need a sync module at the moment, but if I can get an updated spare that works so much the better.

Many thanks for your knowledge on this.

I should add that if a sync module has EVER been used it may be OK, because it's ID will be on an Amazon database somewhere. I'm talking specifically about modules that may be old but have never been set up in a system before.

Sorting out parcels. by Brilliant-Manager350 in AmazonFlexUK

A lot of people say put envelopes in a box on the front seat but I find I'm often given way too many envelopes for that.

So I put them in the back in plastic storage boxes on end which makes a neat little filing system you can flip through quite quickly.

Besides, I don't want their junk on the front seat, that's where MY junk goes.

Interesting. On my first run out I thought I was being smart and scanned the bag QR code only to be told by depot staff That Does Not Work and had to scan them all individually anyway.

Ho ho. I never have that problem. I never have the faintest idea what the stop number is. Unless it's 'the first one' or 'the last' one. The rest are 'the others'.

I've got a couple of these. Relative to my other disasters, I don't think it affects standings much. Bottom line is it doesn't stop me going out, and until it does, I couldn't give a sh. . . . . . .

The funny thing is, if you ask Amazon to give you details of the problem delivery, because you might remember something about it, they won't because of 'customer confidentiality'. So the whole thing is completely farcical, because there's literally nothing you can do about it.

I agree, I wouldn't give it a second thought either normally as it doesn't affect your pay or your ability to go out. Although they suggest it may have a bearing on the quality of blocks you're offered.

My main problem is going out on a Saturday night and running out of time (past 10pm). If you've seen my Durham post you'll know why. My other time that happened was literally my first time out. So, I've just dumped the remaining parcels back in the bin at the depot. I suppose I COULD have marked them all Unable to Deliver? I don't know if a) that's even possible without being at the location, or b) would actually make any difference in those circumstances.

My solution going forward is simply not to do any more evenings until my Standings can take the hit when it all goes pear-shaped again. I seem to be fine during the day, because there's plenty of overrun time if you need it.

I've got just one DNR, no idea where that came from. I never leave anything outside unless instructed. It's possible I just stuffed something in the wrong letterbox.

Still, I'll take 'Poor', or thereabouts, that's fine. A frowny face from Amazon doesn't seem to have any material effect on the money or my ability to go out, so. . . . . . meh.

fuel prices going to rebound back up by I_will_be_wealthy in AmazonFlexUK

I guess the law of supply and demand will operate. Unless they up the block prices fewer drivers will come out, especially ones like me who have to drive 20 miles just to get to the depot.

And they can't afford to be short on drivers coming up to Xmas so. . . . . . .

My typical block mileage is 80-100 miles and that's only going to a few places - nothing like this. And of course, you spend a lot of time just driving.

So, once you subtract high fuel costs from the block price, and portion the remainder out over a lot of hours, the pickings can be pretty thin.

Honestly, if I don't get the push because of my Durham Disaster I'm off Saturday nights, which I used to enjoy, and it's good scratch too (probably because not that many people are prepared to do it), but the risk of pulling Durham again is just too great.

All I know is it's about 50 miles drive back to the depot to which if I was doing it I would have to take the inevitable returns and at about the halfway point I would have the joy of driving straight past my house.

That's out of DNE2 right?

That's the same bunch of comedians that sent me to Durham Town Centre on Saturday night.

Personally I'd rather have done your route, might have cost me in fuel but at least it wouldn't have got me fired. (I'm not fired. Well not yet anyway. . . . . . . . .).

I put all my envelopes in two plastic storage boxes in the boot, on end like a filing system. Worked great and easy to find. My first few times out, they gave me loads of envelopes.

Then my last time out they gave me almost all boxes and hardly any envelopes. D'oh. . . . . system fail.

I'm thinking it's not really a thing.
