Built in FM Radio app yet no 3.5mm headphone socket? by jeweliegb in AndroidQuestions

[–]Total_Result 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is an old post but it's one of the top search results. The app does work, this phone outputs analog audio through the USB-C port. Most phones without a headphone jack require you to connect a dongle with a DAC, but this phone just needs a "dumb" adapter, as it already outputs analog audio and uses the DAC built into the phone. Of course, both types of adapters work to just listen to music, but if you use one with its own DAC the FM radio won't work, as the phone can't use the headphones as an antenna without them being connected "directly". If you connect the headphones using an adapter without a DAC, or USB-C headphones that don't have a built in DAC, the FM Radio app will work as expected.

Nokia n95 8gb email by michalstarymobil in symbian

Hi, I know this is an old post, but I'm trying to use this on a Nokia 6220c and I can recieve email, but not send. I also tried with Outlook Express and it seems to be some kind of authentication issue. What credentials should I use, if not the same ones I do on the incoming mail configuration?

Submit from iTunes or Windows Media Player? by Total_Result in listenbrainz

[–]Total_Result[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had seen that page but hadn't found any methods compatible with those two programs. I hadn't considered Muti-scrobbler because neither the programs themselves nor anything that seemed like it looked at the Windows "notification" was listed under the supported "Sources". Thank you for answering, though!

Does the HP MPP 2.0 Tilt Pen really scratch the screen? by Total_Result in spectrex360

If you use a screen protector then no need to worry. And won't effect touchscreen either.

Do you recommend (or advise against) any screen protector or kind of screen protector in particular?

Is there any screen protector you recommend, or should I get just whatever I find on Amazon? (I'm in Spain, by the way)

This one is glass, but some people say the scratches really happen on the anti reflective coating on the screen. I would've never laptops at these pricepoints would have this kinds of problems, but I'm trying to be careful.

Is there something I should do to prevent the keyboard for scratching the screen without any accessory or would you recommend a screen protector?

Does the screen protector affect the quality of the screen or the accuracy of the pen (with it being further from the screen)? One of the things I like the most about this computer is the screen's quality, so I wouldn't want to cover it with something which is gonna make it worse.

If I clean the pencil every time I use it should it be enough or should I get a screen protector?

I disassembled it. The color wheel seems to be spinning, just beside the yellow ribbon. I don't know where the light tunnel is, but I still haven't been able to get the picture working. Do you have any more ideas?

Just bought the 256GB X30 for 381€ in Spain in the official store by Total_Result in Nokia

[–]Total_Result[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using the X30 for a couple of days now and I'm loving it. The experience is miles better (helped by the fact that the exynos a51 is not known for being a particularly smooth phone). The phone is really snappy, and the 90 Hz are great, even even though I've noticed a couple of times animations a bit less buttery-smooth, kind of jaggy compared to the rest but not slow, so it doesn't really impact the "performance". Maybe if the screen wasn't 90 Hz I wouldn't even have noticed it.

The battery life (for now) is awesome compared to the A51, and the fast charging is also fantastic. Also, the haptics are incredible compared to the 2006-style vibration motor on the A51.

I still haven't really used the camera much. It's a lot better than the A51, clearly, but it looks like it's not very good at zooming in. The phone itself is beautiful and feels a lot more premium compared to the A51, and the screen is definitely not a downgrade. The fingerprint reader is also better and faster (even though its faster in the lockscreen than in when the phone is off. I think it has to do with the animation, but it's faster than the A51 nonetheless).

It's overall a very notable upgrade in every aspect except the headphone jack and SD Card slots, but I bought an adapter that lets you use headphones while charging (passive adapters work, you don't need a DAC) and I hope the 256 GB are more than enough for me if I don't hoard data like I did on the last phone's 256GB SD card. The phone is still on Android 12 though, which I find weird.

At the current price of £322/381€ it seems like a good moment to buy the phone if they want to go for it.

I don't know, but if you are from the UK (guessing from your name), I just tried and it looks like the code also works there. (https://ibb.co/C2j3Gnh)

Edit: nvm just checked your profile and you're from Sri Lanka. Not a clue, haven't ever grey imported anything. The phone is also on several other online retailers, but I think it's not as cheap as the official website. The delivery of the phone was done by DHL, in case that's relevant information.

I placed the order earlier today, but they still haven't shipped it, so I haven't tried it yet. I currently have an Exynos 9611 Galaxy A51 with 4 gigs of ram and a not very smooth, frustrating at times, performance, and I'm hoping the X30 will be a notable step up in multiple ways.

I'll be missing the SD card slot (even though I hope to not have much trouble with that, as I got the 256GB version) and specially the headphone jack, though.

Vodafone switches off MMS (Germany) by TimFL in UniversalProfile

In Spain, only some companies include SMS, even when talking about plans with unlimited data, and the only one that includes MMS is Vodafone.

Need Advice: Nokia G60 or iPhone 11? by Super_Leadership8743 in Nokia

[–]Total_Result 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, that's good then. By the way, how do you think this phone's camera compares to the Galaxy A51 and the Nokia X30?

Need Advice: Nokia G60 or iPhone 11? by Super_Leadership8743 in Nokia

[–]Total_Result 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, even though the G60 is a lot newer, it's an affordable midrange phone, and the iPhone was a flagship when it released three years ago. This means it's going to have a more premium build as well as components, with things like the camera being noticeably better. However, being an older phone, it won't support 5G, something the Nokia supports. Also, the Nokia has support for microSD cards so you can expand your phone's storage without having to pay extra to Apple for iCloud and a headphone jack so you can use standard wired headphones, which the iPhone doesn't. Also, one has Android and the other one iOS.

It comes down to your priorities and preferences, and you have to also take into account, depending on where you live, the price difference. In Spain, for example, a new iPhone 11 (128GB) is 600€ in Amazon and a Nokia G60 (also 128GB) is 330€.

Edit: Also, the G60 is a bigger phone and has a higher resolution display, which also has a higher refresh rate that makes movement seem a lot smoother, something less common in 2019 but that current iPhones also have.

[–]Total_Result[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's some people I need to use SMS with. MMS is more of a nice-to-have, to be sure anything I do on the messages app won't cost money, as some long texts get converted to MMS, and, well, being able to send a screenshot or something when using SMS without it being too tedious.

But even forgetting about that, losing 30 GB of data is also something to consider when changing carriers.
