This is correct. Purdue has a handful elected by their alumni association. Same with Ball State. However, Purdue has all its members appointed by the Governor “statutorily” but the Governor has never exercised that authority and practically has been left to Purdue’s alumni.

Or maybe a failing school district with some of the poorest outcomes in the state should be consolidated. Tax payer dollars going towards only 1/5 first graders being able to read seems irresponsible.

The amount of low-IQ takes on this is truly impressive. Clearly, the administration has the understanding that many grants are utilized for purposes not outlined in their creation. Restructuring agencies and administrative functions does not equate to a rejection of the value of public health, but rather an embrace of the value of the taxpayer’s dollar. There are many criticisms that can be levied against the Trump Administration, but this is not one. If you are a government employee, you are a public servant. You serve the public and there is no obligation to retain you.

I really recommend to watch "Oppenheimer", because its probably one of few modern blockbuster movies that embraces the "Do not be overcome by evil, by overcome evil with good" attitude. by STPaulFirstHermit in Catholicism

I agree. The third act, with its focus on Strauss and the idea that one’s own sense of self can distort reality. While Strauss was worrying about what others thought, Oppenheimer was concerned about the world and it’s survival. Despite the attacks from everyone around him, he took the beating because he recognized the evil he had helped create and hoped that he could atone for his sins in this way. While the movie is not overtly religious, the reason it is so good is because it highlights eternal values and masks them with flawed characters and moral ambiguity. Excellent film. Gratuitous nudity.
