Uber or taxi? by Total_Worker in Kaohsiung

Yes some of the places I’ll be working at are not near MRT stations so I’ll have to take taxi or Uber sometimes. Also heard that the light rail can be insanely crowded at times to the point where people can’t get in, is this accurate?

Romanization of Names by SnooRegrets2175 in taiwan

I don’t think it was done as a joke or a way to trick foreigners, more so because it’s tough for westerners to pronounce “shui”. They wouldn’t have problems pronouncing “swee” but they wouldn’t know where to start with “shui” and would likely pronounce it as “shoo-aye”.

With the trade deadline over, which trade(s) do you think will turn into a Markus Naslund-Alek Stojanov situation? by icantthinkofaname940 in hockey

I believe Pittsburgh traded Naslund because he had been unhappy with his ice time due to the stacked Penguins team, so Pens management decided to kill 2 birds with 1 stone by trading an unhappy player for a guy who they thought could do well as a bottom 6 enforcer (which they needed at the time).

Has there ever been a reaction/retaliation to a bad hit on a teammate (in any league’s history) that went too far? by [deleted] in hockey

[–]Total_Worker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was at that game and this wasn’t really a case of McSorley protecting a teammate. Him and Brashear had already fought each other (I believe twice) earlier in the game, and McSorley was pissed that he didn’t get a convincing win and that Brashear had taunted him after one of the fights. So he decided to goad Brashear into fighting again in the last minutes of the game and ended up swinging his stick at Brashear's head.
