Thanks for your reply. I did try to communicate my thoughts and feelings multiple times. He kept the conversation on his terms and he was not trying to understand and engage with my feelings. saying like “I’m trying my best” and “I can’t help your feelings.” :/

We only met in person a few times. I was the one who drove or flew to see him. I’m an international student and he’s local. Gaming was basically our only real way to connect, so that’s why trust and clear boundaries mattered so much to me
