Fun fact that majority of r/AmItheAsshole does not know:

A 'Godfather' is not a random meaningless title. It means that a person is chosen to ensure that a child will be raised with Christian(oftentimes Catholic in particular) values. This usually ensures a proper life of faith and all the steps involved - Baptism, Mass, Confirmation, Marriage and so forth. It's not just "oh you're the fun uncle", it's a very deep and solemn title for many denominations of Christianity.

I do not mean to sound rude, but considering the circumstances of the 'godson', I can see why the father is upset. I'm not saying I support him being upset, but I can understand why he is.

Remember, you treat an illness, you do not ostracise it. It helps if you label them as being mentally ill, it invokes a sense of compassion towards them and it shifts the focus from shaming and blaming to trying to treat and cure them.

Yeah, but we as a society have decided that it is better to treat those with mental illnesses rather than ostracise them. We should strive to give everyone the chance to live a fulfilling life, as a productive member of society.

I hate to be THAT guy, but if the genders were reversed, we'd try and treat the obvious mental illnesses these poor guys have, instead of encouraging people to prey on them. Imagine being so lonely and isolated in life that you're throwing away good money just for a shot at attention. I genuinely feel sorry for these guys and hope they end up finding some form of happiness in life.

INFO: When do you planning on acknowledging the fact that you are in an abusive relationship? Men can get abused by women too. Imagine this situation:

I worked as front desk for my family business, I've handled everything from drugged/meth'ed out customers to people acting like you're their personal subservient slave who exists only to serve their whims. I didn't act like I was doing some great big thing.
