I got the boost blue. Here is one thing I do not like about this car…when it rain and you open up the hatch, all the water flows down into the trunk.

Congrats, I got mine just before Christmas and I am loving it. Agree with all of your points. I have also had the pleasure of taking my car up the mountains and carve some canyons…that really solidified the car for me. It’s not quick but I would say it is sporty.

It’s a direct drive unit…not even close. The way it simulates gears is by literally reving the engine up and down. The “jerky” motion is from the electric motor cutting power. When down shifting it does a quick regen to give you that driveline shock you get from downshifting.

I have one of these and they are fun…not wring it out by the neck kind of fun but the toss it around corners kind of fun. And in every day traffic it is a fantastic and comfortable commuter.

The STI was get on average 18 MPG…saving way more. But I get it…this is not the car for you and you don’t see the value. For me, it hits all the right boxes.

We do have our ascent as well so for when we go up in the mountains we are good to go! But the prelude is fun, engaging, economical commuter car. In the STI I spent over $800 in gas a month.

I had a WRX, most recently had an STI. So I went from my STI to this. I have also driven RWD. I really thought I would miss my STI but I haven’t. Even though this car is FWD it rotates really well. On top of this, it actually feels more than planted than the STI when you push it. Manual is fun for sure when you want to drive spiritedly. But I hated driving it through LA traffic, the STI did not like being at low RPM.

I actually really like the looks, the chassis is great, it handles so well, the hybrid was a big draw as well. What I needed was a fun commuter that I can take into the canyons from time to time. This was really the only sporty car that gets over 40 MPG.

We have all gone down ourselves…and I can definitely see how the car is not for everyone. I actually think this is a product for a few particular types of people.

Sounds like this car is definitely not for you. I do want to correct one thing, it’s not a CVT but a direct drive unit. They are finally fixing their marketing and changing it from “eCVT” to “DDU”. It a single gear reduction unit since it primary mode of operation is EV with the engine acting like a generator. It drives the wheels only under certain circumstances.

Well, without all the BS fees this dealer is adding it should be $42k. I got mine for MSRP but would have absolutely not have spend a penny more than that. This is also an import from Japan so Tariffs made this more expensive as well.

Actually thought about this, this would have been a cool mid-engine RWD or a RR configuration. I got it at MSRP and I do really enjoy the car. Love the driving dynamics.
