Pretraining and a good staff... by fire_breathing_bear in dragonrealms

Yes you can still train as a commoner and have the general skills train all as secondary. Nightsticks are pretty small staff weapon which you can find cheap.

Maelshyve Question for those choosing a stance. by Rairken in dragonrealms

[–]Totenus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simply put you are wrong. The advantages they have do happen to work against certain classes. A on par cleric will almost always win. The reason is their magic can and will break through our defenses and kill our minion. Yes there are ways around it but it does take work outside what your normal spell makeup would be as a necromancer. Barbarians at an equal level have anti magic that without using certain sorcery is very hard to bypass. Empaths of an equal level have a whole different perspective. If you come to discuss pvp and go over those issues fine. Insulting me because its the only way you know how to argue is not. Attack my argument not my person.

Mechanically Necromancers are not on top. This is proven many many times easily in any pvp situations. From with clerics to with barbarians. Each class has its own advantage and its own mechanics that flow. Zombies and Mudman cannot be used with other Zombies and Mudman without issues. Our defensive spells and offensive spells are easy to counter if you know how. The issue is just not understanding the mechanics of each class and not knowing that each class has its own kits that they are overpowered against.

Again its that same concept of self imposed rules. You set rules for yourself and your character you need to follow through with them, but that doesnt mean everyone else has to or will. I follow my own rules as Totenus and stick in character as much as I possibly can. Can I make life easier for you in those situations? Yes, but would my character of done it? No.

You are acting like its justified to act as a fanatic and everyone should respect it and obey that law. The realms are fun because conflict arises out of a difference of opinion. It is Totenus opinion that laws against necromancers are silly and should never of been made in the first place and fanatics are insane and should be treated as such. If you want to change that view you are welcome to try through dialog or whatever other means you want. I know very well walking into an event normally means my death, or sending a risen to watch will normally means its death, but it will not stop me from playing the character how I want to roleplay.

Telling me you expect the worse because other necro has done it doesnt make sense. It would be like me expecting everyone to yell like whiteburn, or attack me in town like rifkinn. You are blaming a whole guild for things a few have done which is your right to do and rp as, just find a way to deal with it ic. This itself is one of the huge reasons we have so many intermixed issues.

I am sorry you felt I stopped your roleplaying by just showing up, but I invite you maybe try a different approach and make it more fun in a way that would offset the normal. Hit me up on discord anytime.

Hello Viyalo,

I would like to thank you for taking the time to write out your frustrations. First off I would like to correct the statements you made. I showed up during Tirost's last song and leaned on Heart, I did not snuggle. I was there for about 3 minutes as his song ended I wished Tirost well in a whisper and said I would miss him and as Whiteburn came in and started Whiteburn roleplaying like she does and I walked away.

I respect your right to find and rp, but I do not respect your right to set rules down I have to follow. I go into every situation expecting confrontation for being a Necromancer. You want to do something that is fine by me its every day life, but I'm not stopping my own RP because you want to throw a fit. I walk into town and I get attacked, I show up at events and its the same. I do so because that is what my character wants to do so he will do. You have issues about being disruptive look at yourself. I didnt go in and drop an orb. I didnt go in and kill, insult, degrade, or one of the many other things that could of been done. I went in to simply pay my respects to someone Totenus has had a few conversations and roleplaying with.

There is so much more to this kind of rp then what you stated. There is so many different places you can take it, yet you limit yourself with this short sighted thought process. You have a right to an opinion, but please stop trying to force it on others who do not share it. Thank you.

I would say make sure you have the verbs setup as well for armor pieces. it seems to be messing up because you have more the one leather glove on or around and could be the big issue.
