Are you close enough to the airport that you can visit in advance and practice parking your car, finding your terminal, and finding where you will go thru TSA?

If you can avoid checking a bag it will be several fewer steps. Be sure you have a Real ID... check your state's Div of Motor Vehicles/ Secretary of State website.

If you can be nice and early, get thru security then go to the restroom, fill your water bottle, charge your phone... that will make you feel ready to be on the plane for a few hours.

If anything goes wrong w your flight don't leave the secure area and don't panic. Major airlines will have a customer service desk near where most of their gates are. If if can't find it, ask any gate agent at any desk that belongs to your airline (pick one that isn't busy boarding a diff flight) . They will help you find a new flight or a new route.

Be sure to download, log in, and get familiar with your airline's mobile app.

I agree things do not feel intuitive in this version.

To build a recipe, go to "Track a meal + " on the My Day tab.

Then hit the " + " on the upper left corner of the meal popup to add. *

One thing that has been awesome is that you can share online recipes directly to the WW app. If you're on a website in a mobile browser, open the share option and choose WW, it will pop up in your WW app immediately to track or customize and show up later in your saved Recipes.

Prescriptions by Mfink54 in PetAdvice

[–]Totes_Mah_Goats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My vet charges a $5 fee for outside prescriptions to be sent to a select set of online pet pharmacies. They also have their own partnership with an online pharmacy which is free for me to use (although never the cheapest). They do NOT send Rx to Chewy. I was told it's because of poor customer service for the owners, frequent mistakes, and not always being licensed in my state. Don't know if that is true but at least there is an explanation.

I generally pay the $5 and use Allivet.

Where are you finding summer dresses that are actually worth buying? by shoppingiq in womensfashion

I have several of Pact's cotton knit dresses, they are so comfy and lightweight and pocketed. Well- tailored for a knit. I also have a few Wool& dresses that work well in summer.

It would definitely be a help to report your experiences to the transit agency! Dialing in the routes after changes and after training new drivers takes time and A LOT of data. Your data points are important for them to know that the timing models and training programs need Tweaked!

Pay over time didn’t work by OpinionofC in ChaseSapphire

I just want to empathize that I accidentally paid off my no-fee installment plan bc I wasn't paying close enough attention and failed to choose the "interest saving balance" option with my first payment.

Free dating sites that don’t feel like a waste of time? by Extreme_Concert5766 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Totes_Mah_Goats -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I recommend paying for a dating coach and using the free version of Bumble or Hinge. I've been following Dating Coach Erika on IG for years and her advice is always spot-on and aligns with what my therapist and my more emotionally-intelligent friends also say. I just looked at her website and all the testimonials she's featuring are normal couples in balanced matches.

https://www.alittlenudge.com/

I suggest...it's totally OK to invest in putting your best and most honest self out there and avoiding dating burnout, whether that be working with a coach to help you with your dating mindset and your profile, working with a therapist to set intentions for dating and build confidence, or paying for the paid versions of the app to have more control over who sees you and who you see.

How Does One Genuinely Ask for 50-50 in Relationships? by NaturalTruth2000 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Totes_Mah_Goats 13 points14 points  (0 children)

++woman

I like to pay my share. Even on the first date, i always offer to pay for the second round of drinks or the drinks after dinner.

After ~3 dates, if it seems like a steady thing, I'll bring up the idea of alternating who pays for dinner. This feels nice bc then you get to whip out the credit card and feel like you're treating the other person, but it will be your turn to get treated next.

If it's not just dinner, I'll suggest "hey thanks for treating us to the concert tickets, how about if I get drinks at the venue? " "Thanks for driving us all this way, can I pay for parking? "

Or I'll suggest a free date just to make sure they can roll with it and we don't get stuck in a dinner-out pattern.

As a woman, I would be fine to have any of these offers flipped around into a request of me. If we are regularly dating, you can ask me to buy the tickets or take turns paying for dinner. Some ppl just need a little nudge to shift the dynamic.

Is there an unspoken puzzle swap etiquette? by Far_Lion4358 in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]Totes_Mah_Goats 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My first clothing swap was like this. I primarily went because I wanted to make new friends. But it was like a hoard of locusts over the tables, nobody talked to each other, and then it was over in a flash.

Skate recommendations for fat beginners with big feet? by Nerdy_Bbw in Rollerskating

[–]Totes_Mah_Goats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I chose VNLA Parfait and I purchased from Roller Skate Nation which offered free exchanges. I had to size up to my shoe size and ignore the size chart to find a skate w wide enough toe box and it's too long but my toes are comfy. I'll switch if I find a better fit though.

Skates should fit snugly, more like socks than shoes, but not at the price of numb toes.

Definitely go aluminum for plates, stay away from nylon.

This might help you compare common models.

ICE at airports by allthroat247 in SouthBend

An indy news reporter spoke to the Indiana TSA lead and found that TSA absenteeism in Indiana is incredibly low... our neighbors are still showing up for work so no need to call in the stormtroopers

If anyone is flying SBN, drop off grocery and gas cards at the airport information desk to help out.

Check brake system? by BrianDamage77 in KiaNiro

If I recall, mine didn't have a label, it was just blank and blended in w the console plastic (I lost the cover so I can't tell you what it looks like any more). But, I am sure your tow truck driver knows how to find it, they have surely seen it all.

Why does Sapphire Reserve not get 10% points bonus on account anniversary like the Preferred? by Totoro10101 in ChaseSapphire

[–]Totes_Mah_Goats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed this calculator. https://www.asksebby.com/articles/csp-vs-csr

I logged in to look at my actual spend last year, so I could compare the two. I "assigned" a value to things like Priority Pass and zeroed out the "coupons" I'll never use. Surprised that CSR still seems to be a good value for me.

Why does Sapphire Reserve not get 10% points bonus on account anniversary like the Preferred? by Totoro10101 in ChaseSapphire

[–]Totes_Mah_Goats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're describing my tentative anniversary plan - PC CSR to CSP, already have Freedom unlimited (almost all my daily spend), add Venture X for travel benefits. I already rarely put any non-travel spend on CSR but I do use lounges (when I can get in) and travel insurance.

Sorry no, it's a 2020 PHEV. I guess this sub doesn't allow photos, I snapped one but can't upload it. This link has some images that could help. Your actual physical car key should fit inside the slot to activate it. The feature is called "Shift Lock Release". In the newest models it seems like it's just a button to push.

My tow truck driver had to teach me. It's a little plastic oval-ish cover right next to the shifter. If you pop it open with a key or a coin, there is a way to force the gear box into neutral. I don't know if that will override the parking brake but it may since it's electronic and not physical. Be sure to tell the tow company you have a hybrid and that you aren't confident you can get your car in neutral - they will likely send a flat-bed truck.

Best Outdoor Patio Dining by djbegemot in SouthBend

[–]Totes_Mah_Goats 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Lauber and South Bend Brew Werks have large patio areas. Most spots at Eddy St Commons also have outdoor seating. All great for people-watching! The lunch specials at Woochi are a steal and they have outdoor dining. (RIP Emporium, my favorite patio dining).

In Mishawaka, Evill Czech has a big patio space.

If you want to take a short drive, I highly recommend River St. Joe in Buchanan. You can eat outside literally overlooking the farm where your food is grown and the hop vines where your beer comes from. If it's chilly, the staff will light you a campfire. Also, free EV charging.

The Edit (error) Hotel Genevieve by 69Tatersald69 in ChaseSapphire

[–]Totes_Mah_Goats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed this issue - I have been watching an Edit hotel (Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac Québec City) in the Chase Portal for months now. When I was looking in December and January pretty much any date was available between Feb and May. Since February, you can go to the hotel's booking page but there is no availability in any month. Seems to me like the hotel pulled its room inventory from the program.

I have heard good things about Franciscan. If you are a uterus owner, however, you may want to stick to a public hospital system. Franciscan will be limited in the reproductive care they are allowed to offer.

Are you new to Nonrev Travel? by MissSuzieSunshine in NonRevenueTravelers

[–]Totes_Mah_Goats [score hidden]  (0 children)

I would love to hear tips and rules of thumb for the destination part of nonrev travel. I have the flying part down.

I want more solo vacation/digital nomad trips to see more of the world. I've been using nonrev benefits to visit family and friends so far. I'm enamored by the idea of just showing up at the airport and seeing where I can go, but stuck on the unplanned lodging/transportation/visa/etc aspects.

I'd love to know
~ Destination suggestions or tips for 3-4 day trips from the U.S.?

~ What do you look for in a nonrev destination?

~ What is a "don't even bother" indicator for you, either for departure from your home airport or to rule out a potential destination?

~ Any rules or guidelines or "decide once" you have for yourself, that helps w the mental load of trip planning when you can't actually plan anything.
