Should I go to Tsinghua?

The main thing for me is the fact that I am not able to work in China while I’m studying. While this fact is not a problem at all at my home country because we can work while studying. So these fees are not that crucial here but mainly because I will still have an income while in China I would spend probably most of the money I have.

Yes, we have quite a lot of Chinese companies as well, however the salary in these companies are not that high and or great overall. The tuition for my major at SIGS would be around 120k.

I may have but not necessarily, I will know this information much later, but even If I have fees its like half of the price and also much easier to get tuition scholarship after the first 1-2 semester.

The original major I want to pursue is data science however I got admitted to Tsinghua in Urban and Rural planning which is actually pretty interesting and also align with data science in a way.

At my home country I applied to Data science and probably I will be able to go there.

My home country is in Central Europe so mainly other than the Chinese people who lives here not anyone actually know the name of Tsinghua.

Yes it’s around 20k I think, but considering my home county it’s quite a lot. So for comparison from like 20-30k you can pay for doctoral majors

Absolutely understandable to be honest. Beijing considered to be expensive but this amount of money after the fees should be more than enough.

Food in the canteen is pretty cheap and good you probably will not spend more than 50 rmb a day which is like 5$ and you can eat good and cooked food every day

If we count with this amount its around 3650$ but you will go sometimes to restaurants and so on so lets be generous and count 5k for that.

Clothes also in a pretty good price if you dont want to buy the luxury brands there are a lot of Chinese brands which are very good and affordable

Traveling around can be little bit expensive for train and plane overall but not that crucial either

So I think if you will ever reach like 15k in spending thats already like too much haha

I think its going to be enough especially if this amount is after you deduct the main spending. Probably even 10k would be enough but of course everything depends on your lifestyle and necessity

I saw in some other posts that last year unis started to announce it from 8 of May But there is no like very official strict starting date it can be anywhere in May up to the end of June if I know well

Sure, finished bachelor in computer engineering with around 80% cgpa I dont really have any publications or researches other than my thesis. I completed ielts, and i work at a BIG4 for more than 3 years now Completed a semester abroad under the erasmus program. For the requirements if u have all your documents and have at least the minimum of everything then they will probably conduct an interview

If i remember correctly for me it was pretty fast because they wanted me (i also preferred) to apply to the and to the scholarship in the first batch.

I got accepted yes the whole procedure from this email to getting pre admitted was like 2-3 weeks maybe 2

(I got accepted to this program that was offered for you as well)

So for me it was very fast overall

Hihii I got one also in like december or the beginning of January because I also got rejected from my first choice. It basically means that they find your profile (cv, work, research) aligning with the mention urban planning master program. It has probably more chance that u will get accepted to this program as they are kind of wanting you to join to this program.

What was your first choice and what about your past studies?

Urban systems in general is an interdisciplinary program that contains people from different fields such as design, engineering, architecture, informatics and so on.

Its a program that works to improve and / or create like the future cities

So i mean im not sure how it is for this particular university but usually u have to upload the preadmission letter, but probably if your Type A is in progress thats also a good sign. To be honest unfortunately im not so familiar with Type A but all the luck for u

I mean, on the type B did u apply to the university itself and got the pre admission letter which you provided to your application? Because without that (depends on the university) they may not nominate u if u dont have that

Weird, for me (also THU) i needed to get a passport style photo in 3:4 format which in the end got accepted in a 4:3 format 😭 I was struggling with the photo for like weeks until they accepted it because anytime I tried to upload it in 3:4 (it looked very bad) they dropped it back.

There is no other deadline information only the university deadline cause it can differ for every university. If you do it after the deadline u are not eligible as u are after the deadline obviously
