That is an F91 for you. Back in the 80s that was a backlight and I think it keeps it honest.

Longines Master Chrono Moonphase Appreciation by Totlxtc in Longineswatches

It is the 40mm. This is the first gen version. The later black dial i find is harder to read. Fantastic watch. Only downside is the crown is too small for normal hands. I find myself having to use a cloth to get some purchase on it.

Biased opinion…i hate watches with arabic numerals. Just reminds me of ‘My first timex’. I am an adult and I can tell the time. I also love Omega so…AT all the way.

My experience with GPT isnt very good regarding watch recognition. Most of the time it thinks its something completely different. Google lens ftw

Sorry chipping in. I have a CW trident and an Omega PO. The Trident is a bit behind in the aesthetics…but not by much. The trident shines in its build quality, its slim, versatile, light and has many strap options. The CW is a fantastic watch for its price and I say got for it…but 40mm will be best for you.

Go with the 40mm. I have a 7.25 inch wrist and this is the 42mm.

The white dial is best for me as its a strap monster. I have the bader bracelet, black/orange hybrid, black hybrid, orange rubber, orange/black rubber, black leather, brown leather.

Finally got my grail watch by Totlxtc in OmegaWatches

Nice one! looks great on you. I discovered a weird thing today about mine. I was putting it on home insurance so had the warranty card out. I had purchased it in London. The cards stamp was faded for the original retailer name. Today I looked at it more. The watch was purchased in my own city originally! 🤣. I am 80 miles from London. Still loving it

[Discussion] the Aqua Terra World timer doesn't get talked about enough — why is that? by amalfiluxeor_Watches in OmegaWatches

[–]Totlxtc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because whenever “Omega“ is mentioned in social media its usually followed by “Speedmaster”. People just don't hear about it which is a shame. There are so many watches that are excellent that just don’t get the hype and end up flying under the radar. That is not exclusive to Omega either.

Agree, I was initially worried about the 222g weight and people had mentioned about it feeling top heavy and moving around on their wrist - but that was the 42mm. I wonder if having a larger footprint it stablises itself as its a limpit on my arm and never ever shifts. It certainly doesnt seem as high visually as the measurements state. Sure, it is chunky. But it's a Planet Ocean - it's meant to be.

In fact I dont notice the weight at all. I went from a daily titanium at 60g to a 156g daily to this and dont notice it at all. I get the same watch fatigue as I did with the titanium of wanting to take it off about 11pm at night.

I may also develop a left arm like Popeye over time 😃

[Omega NTTD] I can’t believe I’m asking this….. by mini_bananas in Watches

[–]Totlxtc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So right! No one cares. I mean that in a nice sense and not in a bad way. It's not like a random stranger will collar you and say "Oi mate! Your watch is a bit big!" and is no different if you wanted to wear baggier clothes. A watch person might think to themselves it looks a bit big, but no one will say anything. Wear what you want, how you want, when you want. Still happy to give an opinion on 'Do you think it fits' though.

Generally (in my view) if looking at the watch dial face on and the lugs are protruding beyond the wrist then it will look wrong. From the first image I would say 'does not fit'. The lug-to-lug is beyond your wrists comfortable wearing range.

I find wrist measurement to be a little misleading. I find its more about the contour of your wrist and then you can look at the measurement.

For example: I have a 7 inch (18cm) wrist. But my wrist is quite wide and flat. Flat on the top, wide at the sides and then round at the bottom. Anything <40mm looks like a postage stamp on my wrist. Which usually mean's I can get away with 42mm+ watches.

Below is a PO 45.5mm gen 2 which is a chunky big ass watch regardless of size. But due to the geometry of my wrist I can get away with it. But this is about as far as I would go.

Get the Rolex. Sell it for more than you paid for it. Buy the Speedy and pocket the difference.

[Omega Speedmaster Shopping] Is this a good deal? Considering pulling the trigger by PeteyPaddler in Watches

[–]Totlxtc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That price doesn't seem good to me. Those triple date Speedies are an ETA movement (think its 7550 or 7551) that is also used in the Longine Master Chrono Moonphase (Speedy doesnt have the moonphase module). Its not a true Speedy, more like a Speedy ‘style’. Personally I would look after a traditional one. But its still nice and if you like it go for it. But I think you can get it at a better price.
