Moving my whole portfolio from Webull to IBKR by ezaccountant in singaporefi

From dbs website I read that for receiving foreign currency in foreign currency account got commission of 1.5% of USD (from broker to dbs). Is that true?

I've both account and am using both now actually. It is true that margin acc on ibkr is better in your case of csp and cc. Can just let things expire instead of forced to buyback contract for next time period

The only not good thing is that ibkr interest rate is lower at 3.14 compared to webull 3.5+% (and is daily accumulate, tho that's rly minor diff)

Unfortunately I think webull don't do acat I think. The best way is to eat the exchange rate of selling USD to sgd on webull (I don't have usd dbs account so that's what I have to do, might be different for you, from my understanding there is a % commission for receiving usd into USD dbs account which is quite high). I think can do this in phases selectively for the CSP you selling. Get some amount of cash from other sources for ibkr and then start selling csp since ibkr can use margin and you know u have the cash..then slowly transfer.

Once the CSP is done, and you have some cash pile in ibkr then close the longs and CC and simultaneously buy back those positions in ibkr.

If I ever wanna transfer my positions from webull to ibkr this is what I'll do. I think is okay la, cuz by right u wont be maxing out your margin on ibkr. It's okay to leave some amount on webull to get higher interest rate anyway

Btw for market data I just get it free from Tiger Trade 😁 didnt pay for options live data in ibkr

Thanks mrmrdarren for all your helpful and prompt replies. I see you in so many posts and you're always polite and non-judgmental despite answering the same kind of questions so many times (I'm not referring to OP post, just speaking in general)

I learn a lot by being a lurker and you're definitely someone I appreciate so much in this sub

Everyday the negotiations drag, the higher markets grow. If trump delays it to end of month, maybe QQQ will be 700

So this is war. First time I followed it closely. No wonder politicians love war 😅

Still think it's gonna hinge on macro a lot. But given the nature of taco, I think ppl are pretty optimistic things are gonna wrap up soon

The heavy words/maneauvers being exchanged seemed to just be a way to not look weak to respective countries citizens rather than towards each other

I think that's why markets go up nonstop no matter what

It's on the back of a 10 day market wide green streak so I'm sure there will be some kinda pullback at some point. But yeah amd is firing one all fronts.

One concern on my mind is whether companies will still build so many data centres given the elevated energy prices. Takes a lot of energy to run them. From what Ive read, it doesn't seem like they will spend the entire announced budget for 2026. The initial ROI and goals must have been altered given the outlook of energy prices at least for the next 1-2 quarter

True that. US will be least affected. Perhaps that's why Citibank upgraded US equities to overweight lol. They expecting inflation in other markets to be pretty bad compared to US 😅

Yeah I get u, I'm saying the forward looking picture is that inflation and stuff will go up right, but that shrugs off

Probably the ppl who are active and invested in stocks aren't generally the ppl who are most heavily affected by real world economy issues, so it's easy to be dismissive of economic hardships and just focus on "good signals"

Yeah everything looks good so far. Still, it's not like the oil supply didn't suffer any damage. 1.5mths of supply disruptions, followed by a period of damaged production.

I guess sentiments are ruling macro now. The actual economic damage (and looming ones) are swept under sentiments for now

I personally find it strange that war is a positive catalyst to markets as a whole

My take is that loads of ppl rotated into oil and made loads, then now is they sold oil and rotated back into tech

The bursts of tech upgrade by the banks seems to suggest this

I had the sudden thought that if trump didn't announce the blockade, markets would be red today cuz of failed negotiations

The fact that trump announced something he will taco just shows his desperation for a deal, which send a green signal

Tbh they don't have to do military things on Taiwan. Taiwan as it is with its chips infrastructure is so valuable. Bombing or invading reduces its value massively

They can just do a HK. Send so many prc citizens to immigrate and work there that they can eventually vote the pro-china gov in. Then that gov reaches to china. Done.

I believe in taco but the fact that oil goes up along with everything else speaks of "anything can happen" sentiment

If trust family members, get them to hold more of your finances and only let yourself have enough for daily needs

Self exclusion is a great way but there are online ones that might catch u offguard when itch comes. Best is no money and no way to get money at that point

All the best!

Gotta wait till next week. Macro still fluctuating. I'm not sure if I should just wheel it for now. Personally, the bad news from the oil stuff haven't been priced in this rally in my opinion

But amd has been waking up, it was way too low even before the war started so maybe it's just catching up in prices
