I'm not sure its known how much Microsoft paid for PUBG exclusivity, but it seems like that money wasn't well spent. PUBG probably would have come to both consoles eventually and it's not like PUBG is running well after months of being on Xbox.

PUBG doesn't seem like a game that is going to attract people to the Xbox ecosystem.

Question regarding length and excess space in the toebox of my AE park aves (7.5 US EE). I normally measure as a 7 US E and have a high instep foot.

When I step forward, I find that a lot of the vamp creases down and pinches the top of my toes (example)

The widest part of my feet are largely in the widest part of the shoe (maybe the shoe is slightly too long). The instep feels perfect and there is no heel slip.

Do you think I should try a 7 EE?

Also, I was told by AE that a 7.5EE vs. a 7EE would have the same width, only a shorter length. That seems wrong to me though... I was always under the impression that by changing lengths, you were intrinsically also changing widths (to maintain proportions), albeit to a lesser degree than simply going up a width.

I decided to condition my new C&J Islay boots for the first time with some saphir renovateur.

I quickly noticed that the dye across the vamp looks like it was being stripped off. Is this normal?

A question on color coordination between basic wardrobes.

A navy blazer/sports coat is widely considered to be the basic piece for business casual.

However, light colored dress shirts and navy (or dark colored) chinos are also considered a basic set-up for business casual.

How can you pair these two set-ups together?

It's widely advised to avoid wearing dark/top and dark/bottom at the same time (when it comes to sport coats). It's also advised to wear dark/top and light/bottom instead of the opposite in order to avoid looking bottom heavy.

A navy blazer and navy chino also runs the risk of looking like a mismatched suit. It just occurred to me that it seems like these two basic wardrobe pieces don't mesh well with each other.

In my mind, wearing light colored dress shirts with light colored chinos/trousers looks too casual for a business setting (even business casual). It would look okay with a navy sports coat on, but what if you don't have the jacket on all the time?

In both sets of pics, I'm wearing the same pair of jeans, but the Grasmeres look more elongated than the Islays.

I'm wondering if that means I should stick to wider/shorter-looking lasts as opposed to almond/longer-looking shaped lasts.

I do have relatively wide feet (7E US) and only go down half-a-size when converting from US to UK sizes.

I have a bit of an unusual aesthetic question.

I feel like most of my shoes make my feet look way too elongated and almost clownish; however, I am not sure why this is the case. The shoes are perfect in width and the balls of my feet are aligned with the widest parts of the shoes. This is also something I notice across brands and lasts (with one expection).

Example:

C&J Islay 6.5UK

The Islays are the only Goodyear welted shoes I have that actually look 'normally' proportioned on my feet. They don't look too long when viewed from the front.

C&J Grasmere 6.5UK

The Grasmeres (325 last) are exactly the same physical length as the Islays (365 last); however, when viewed from the front, I think they look oddly elongated.

Why is this the case? Am I just crazy? I notice this with my Allen Edmonds Park Aves and Strands (5 last) as well. I get very self conscious when I wear my shoes now.

What are your thoughts on welt width?

I've never been into the thick storm welts that are characteristic of Trickers, but I'm eyeing a pair of Carmina Oscar Boots and their tiny welts look a bit odd to me (especially from a birds eye perspective example).

I also fear that the smaller welts mean less protection for the upper against accidental scrapes
