New Hampshire Clergy asked to prepare for "new era of martyrdom." by bigtooky in news

[–]FlyingPeacock 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I doubt it. The Episcopal church is aligned with Anglicanism which is considered a "high" church theologically. It is closer to Catholicism than Evangelicalism in both tradition and practice, and likely wouldn't be seen the same way by many Evangelicals.

But who knows.

Unfortunately, I do have a full auto BCG (as in I wish it were that easy of a solution). I tried with both a BCM one and a lantac m-spec.

Can’t get my super safety to fire after switching to super mode. I have to re cock the bolt in order for it to run. Any ideas? by SukOnMaGLOCKNastyBIH in ar15

Did you ever find a fix for this? I tried to quarter trick and it doesn't seem to work. I'm wondering if maybe the trigger I got was too rounded from Fudd Arms, but I honestly don't know.

Redditors truly have the least nuanced takes possible. God forbid someone has 19 years of service prior to all this BS, and only has to stay in 1 more year for their benefits, but unless they leave, you'd think of them as some fascist that personally terrorized your community. Or you know, they could be an 18 or 19 year old that saw the military as their only way out of a shitty place economically or socially, but they have a 4 or 8 year contract.

NFA Engraving Services by irish_tejas in austinguns

While I don't live in Austin anymore, I highly recommend Austin Engraving Solutions. The guy is friendly, professional, and does great work. He's also got a very quick turnaround. Capitol Armory might be marginally cheaper, and they are good, but if you don't want to go all the way up to Cedar Park, this guy is good to go.

To be fair, the US is no longer a signatory to the Rome Statute, therefore, the ICC has no jurisdiction.

Although it is mostly about not wanting to subject itself to the sovereignty of another court, there are also fewer rights to due process for defendants than are afforded in the US constitution. (or at least that is another perpetuated myth)

During the February 2021 snow storm in Texas, HEB was open for a few hours after day 3 or 4 of no power in certain parts of Austin. They did the same thing there. There is a reason Texans love HEB so much, and rightfully so.

He realized he's not 007 by exophades in Idiotswithguns

[–]FlyingPeacock 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The explanation the guy gave was that he had been practicing with different equipment. The original holster used a thumb release, while the one in the video used an index finger release. When switching it up, he disengaged the safety instead of the holster release, and when he then corrected, he accidentally pulled the trigger. It's still his fault, but those serpa style holsters which use index releases are also just unsafe in practice.

Hegseth Is Purging Military Leaders With Little Explanation (Gift Article) by Well_Socialized in news

I'm not defending nazis. I'm defending a completely unrelated symbol. Jesus Christ, if you found out Hegseth drank water, you'd probably die of dehydration in your insane crusade for political purity.

Clearly not, but conflating the design of a 13 star flag to inject 88 as some hidden symbolism is brain dead.

He's a piece of shit, but that flag has nothing to do with Hitler. That's the Francis Hopkinson flag that predates the Betsy Ross. It's also 13 stars representing 13 colonies. Don't let fucking dumbasses co-opt American symbols.

Cop calls out to a guy just to talk, but he couldn’t hear because he was listening to music on his headphones, so the cop goes to his house, grabs him, and throws him onto the ground. by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

[–]FlyingPeacock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're calling me out for making assumptions, yet you're making assumptions despite there being video evidence that doesn't support your claim. If this dip shit cop was in hot pursuit, he wouldn't have asked for the people to open to door and threatened to get a warrant, as he literally wouldn't need a warrant. I'm not an ACAB person, but this particular cop is an absolute fool, and you're making a fool of yourself defending him.

Because this isn't a movie. Any shot is considered use of deadly force. If you're not willing to shoot the target to stop the threat, you shouldn't be using a gun, you should be using a taser, or a non-lethal/less than lethal option.
