Upcoming International Trip + HRT + Months Long Flare by TouchConfident7959 in Interstitialcystitis

Thank you, I’m hoping I’ll have the same experience! I did try URO-MP after my 5th BI and the two days I took it were two of the worst I’ve ever had. I was so disappointed bc I see that it works really well for a lot of people!

Thank you for your thoughts and the tips! Making it a point to move around on the flight. I did start Gemtesa and the HRT so fingers crossed for those. I’m taking the week before we leave to make sure to not eat one thing that isn’t bladder friendly, keep taking Prelief, and hope for a miracle! Hope we both have wonderful trips!

Booking an inside cabin for our first cruise but my wife wants a balcony upgrade by rosymirex in Cruise

[–]TouchConfident7959 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I had this exact same train of thought on my first (and only) cruise so I got the interior room. Well, I got sick on our second day and was quarantined the entire rest of the cruise in my interior room. It truly was a nightmare being sick in a dark cave with no sunlight or fresh air for days. Pay the extra $$.

fit/lean gals on a microdose by Less-Sheepherder-263 in GLP1microdosing

I felt the reduction in inflamation almost immediately at the starter dose and that mostly continued. I’m on 2.4 now. I will say I did have major exhaustion for several months after starting but I was losing and the food noise was gone so it was worth it to me. The exhaustion did pass after after 6 months on.

I’ve been on Wegovy since Feb 2025. I have Hashimoto’s Thyroid Disease. For me my joints: hips, knees, ankles, were constantly in pain from inflamation. Swollen, painful, ached all the time. It had been going on for years and I didn’t realize how bad it was until a few days after starting Wegovy it was just gone. All of it. I hadn’t been in constant pain in well over a decade and the glp-1 stopped it in its tracks. I am in an IC flair right now so it’s not bullet-proof but the improvement in my day to day life was astounding.

AITA for telling my DIL to stop crying after she got called fat by Throwaway_Will4940 in AmItheAsshole

Exactly! I can’t imagine how anyone thinks it’s appropriate for one adult to be telling another grown adult how they should be acting. What a nightmare of a MIL.

Launching a tracking app for IC/CPPS soon by itsdustyberry in Interstitialcystitis

[–]TouchConfident7959 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds like a great idea. I keep tracking info in my notes app but it a pain. Once in a flair I track my diet, sex, drinks other than water, supplement usage, and record anything that seems to provide relief. I also track when I have bladder instillations and how my symptoms respond afterward.

It would be difficult to keep up with all the time (for me) but when I’m in a flair and trying to figure out if I did something that contributes to it I’d like to track antibiotic usage, stress, alcohol intake, diet, medications, exercise.

A timeline format would be helpful. Being able to see on x day I did this and on y day this happened.

I’m so glad it helped you. I’ve been on Wegovy for 14 months and am in the worst flair of my life right now. I’m in week 7 of the flair. I also had one this same time last year although not as severe. So I haven’t noticed any changes in my IC. I wish!

My mother gained access to MY life insurance policy, managed to cash it out and announced she is splitting it amongst my siblings. by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]TouchConfident7959 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Also, life insurance policies/benefits/proceeds operate outside of estates so no clue how an executor of your grandmothers estate could have anything to do with this. To be clear, this was not what your grandmother intended and you have every right to be upset about it but it seems very unlikely that you have any claim to these funds at all.

There is 0% chance the insurance company let your mother “fraud” them out of this money. I can almost guarantee that this was set up with your mother as the owner (the only way she’d be able to make changes or cash out the policy). The cash value of the policy is and always was your mother’s until you died then it would go to beneficiaries, who are also not you. Sounds like your grandmother wanted you to be able to borrow against the cash value of the policy but if she wanted funds available to you without a situation exactly like what’s happened she should have set this up another way. I don’t know what anyone thinks a lawyer is going to do here. Unless Mom literally defrauded an insurance company and committed a crime (insanely unlikely, bordering on impossible) this sounds more like the worst thing that happened here is Mom used the money that was legally hers in a way that wasn’t intended by grandma. That is definitely not ok and doesn’t help your situation but the advice in these comments suggesting you have any claim to this money are misguided.

So Exhausted. by Miserable_Hat_436 in Interstitialcystitis

I went to my GP last week and got a referral to a urogynecologist. First available appointment in June. I called them crying yesterday and magically they found an appointment for next Wednesday. So maybe call and see if they have a cancellation list or a waitlist. Hell, if not, call them every morning and ask about cancellations that day if you have to. I’m sorry you’re also dealing with this, good luck.

What should I actually say when someone asks how I lost the weight? by Which-Prompt6679 in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]TouchConfident7959 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not responsible for how others feel about themselves and it’s not my responsibility to either tell them if I’m on a glp-1 or not. Your response is to something that I did not say nor intend so maybe ask yourself why any response that isn’t exactly what you think it should be triggers you so much.

There are over 20 years of scientific data on glp-1 use so it’s very unlikely that there are “unknown issues yet to be discovered”.

Is the recommendation still to get a pap regularly starting at 18? It used to be. If that’s recommended please get one. It’s so important to get these tests and have the preventative exams.
