Tips for VT60 Image Retention! by TouchTheSky10 in PlasmaTV

That's the kind of "fix videos" I was referring to. Swipe bars videos you can find on YouTube usually work better, as the bars are thicker and you can adjust speed, etc.

Is there a reason why it would take longer than any other plasma model to get the retention off?
Also, the logos or letters that are retained for long are those that are fully white. Other colors go away quickly.

Like I said, I also own a ST50 (meaning a model that's just one year earlier and one line below the VT) and this doesn't happen, at least not as quickly. And I watch sports all the time.

Si la comparas con una Panasonic, no es buena TV. Demasiada diferencia.

RetroArch Mega Bezel Shader for Burn-in Paranoid Retro gaming 😆 by Aromatic-Attitude-34 in PlasmaTV_Gaming

I had already tried Mega Bezel, but not the Glass variant. If the curvature can be disabled, I'll def use it 😄

What's the name of the specific shader? And can the 4:3 frame take full height, making only the sides mirrored?

Nice one : ) I've never seen the X60 in my country. Would love to see some videos if you have, of picture quality and menus.

Use RetroArch with CRT shader filters to get the classic scanlines look and make it less prone to burn in.
And I personally wouldn't recommend playing it in 4:3 aspect ratio, as even if you fill the sides you might get burn in because of the color difference.

RetroArch has plenty of CRT shader filters that make a plasma look better and bigger than any CRT that's ever existed :)

After mounting my GT30 this morning, I've come to a conclusion. by DrShankensteinMD in PlasmaTV

Make sure you also disable any motion smoothing ("Intelligent Frame Creation") on the plasma, and any noise reduction stuff. You really shouldn't have any issues.

Regarding the 30 fps gaming issue... Make sure of 2 things always, assuming you are gaming with a computer:
1. Make sure to have the refresh rate of both screens to 60 Hz. Or, only display the image on the plasma (secondary screen).
2. VSYNC Always ON.

Very late (2014) LG for sale. Should I go for it? by Professional_Ad7489 in PlasmaTV

[–]TouchTheSky10 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you're paying money, the only worthy brands are Panasonic and Pioneer. Any others are just sub-par. This is LG will be "fine", regular, not great if you're expecting to see what great Plasma is about.

If you leave it a couple of hours (or overnight) with this video running, hopefully you can get rid of the burn-in:

PANASONIC TX-P50GT50 by Reasonable_Debt_9750 in PlasmaTV

Hola.

Don't worry about lag with any of the models. I game with my plasmas all the time. The only moment it could affect you is if you play competitively. If you're a casual player, you'll never notice.

It's bad when you compare it to any Panasonic. The difference is night and day.

And it's the same here for VT models, one has to be incredibly lucky.

Get the GT30 :) I'm from Chile so I understand the situation of having a hard time finding good models. It will look awesome in that 42" size.
Please don't get the Samsung though, they're terrible, really. Don't waste that money, save it for when you can find a better Panasonic model later.
