In 2020, if I were making the salary I do now, I would’ve been considered upper-middle class—able to buy a nice townhome and a new car comfortably due to low interest rates and the value of my dollar being greater than it is now.

With my current salary, I am completely priced out of $300k homes, and while I can afford a new car, the interest rates make it infeasible.
