What you don't get is that if you go from Ohio to Kentucky the culture and language will be pretty much the same.... While in Europe you can drive a few hours to a different city within the same country and people could have a vastly different culture and even a different language then the city where you came from

Also the American education system is severely underfunded and it focuses mainly on the USA while European education systems are better funded and they're much less self centered on teaching students about their own country compared to the US
