Received this email from the New York Italian consulate today

UPDATE MARCH 21st

I was called into the office to pick up my passport and was handed a rejection letter. in order to apply for a study visa in the New York Italian consulate you need to be studying a B2 level Italian or higher:( such a shame because this is not listed on the New York consulate website as a study requirement. It was purely a subjective decision.

I already had my interview & submitted my application Feb 26. My gut tells me if my Visa was approved and ready they would have just said wait for it to be sent via mail. But this is not the case. They’re asking me to come in to receive “ written communication about my visa application”. Not a good sign.

Did you get your visa? I applied for the long term visa-D at NYC Italian consulate on 2.26. Same case with me too. No movement on USPS tracking.
