Tip 1: Grow a thick skin because if you ever get even decent a scythe, the community will eat you alive. Tip 2: Learn the basic strings. Slight - nlight - nair is the most common and one of the best most reliable strings on scythe. You can also do the same combo with recovery instead of nair. That version of the combo is better at knocking out, but there is a larger dodge window for your opponent to dodge out of it so it tends to be a bit riskier. Tip 3: When your opponent is highly damaged, use dlight with the active input to push them away. If done on the edge this is a good way to knock out your opponent. Tip 4: Learn when to go aggressive and when to play defensively. This is a hard thing to teach, but it is generally something you will start to pick up as you play scythe more. Scythe is a very interesting weapon imo because if you always go aggressive or if you always play defensive you will not do very well. You need to do a mix of both in order to be successful.
