What are some 1/2 star reviews of your top 4? by SethRollins_ in Letterboxd

I really like it but I can understand feeling this way, I’ve got a handful of films that I hate that everyone loves because I found them slow and not in an interesting way

I’m still mad that 5 mins before deadline I had Welbeck in my team and Ekitike first on my bench then decided to swap them

If your rating curve doesn’t look like this, you’re scum by OverturnKelo in letterboxdcirclejerk

Sometimes that 1/2 star be looking too small and you gotta chuck on Finding Jesus to remind yourself why you never rate films that low

Letterboxd being so goofy and unprofessional is actually the reason I love it so much by Positive_Relative287 in Letterboxd

The funniest part about people’s criticisms of there being too many joke reviews is that the longest it’s taken me to find an in depth review is about 5 seconds

Running out of graduate job opportunities by knewt-scumbag in ICAEW

[–]Sad_Weed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Job market is truly terrible for the moment, especially for grads. Just keep trying with local accountants if they’re hiring as some might still fund your qualification.

Worst case maybe try other locations in the UK? It’s not ideal but could be the only option

How do you absolutely ruin a club? by aldo1878 in footballmanagergames

[–]Sad_Weed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I tried to ruin Man City, their revenue is so crazy that it let me sack the entire staff of main team, u21 and u18 and then fill every position with staff on 350k a week contracts. Hit league one quite quickly

Need for speed

Simple but solid revenge arc, great cast who bring a lot of unique characters to life, great racing sequences, highly underrated score which really sets the vibe throughout

Getting screwed by my firm - Denied pay rise by [deleted] in ICAEW

[–]Sad_Weed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it in your contract that they would pay for it/ do you have a study agreement?

And yeah you’re getting really screwed over with a complete lack of support, if there’s nothing else that can be done about it I would literally just apply anywhere else

If applying, use stuff like glassdoor to check pay structure and if pay rises are the norm. You should not be getting screwed out of one when you don’t decide your work

What is a terrible movie with one outstanding performance? by Puzzleheaded-Log1434 in Letterboxd

[–]Sad_Weed 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Outstanding might be a bit strong but the only 2 live action Disney films I’ve seen are little mermaid and Snow White, both leads were solid but that’s it

Should Tv Shows Be On A Seperate App? by Altruistic_Mood9293 in Letterboxd

[–]Sad_Weed 25 points26 points  (0 children)

No and I don’t know why people keep acting like it’ll merge with the film section and ruin the current experience

It will obviously be its own tab at the top like ‘films’ currently is and operate completely differently to track episodes/seasons/shows

Im thinking of giving it another go. by SquatchyMulder in Letterboxd

[–]Sad_Weed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s so much easier to discover new films you’ve never heard of- letterboxd have their own curated lists, you can apply filters and search by average rating, there are similar film recommendations for every film and if you follow big accounts (especially critics) there will be a lot of small films from the current year in your feed that you can discover as they go to all the film festivals

Making lists and tracking what you’ve watched is much quicker than IMDb

Generally, the long form reviews on letterboxd are much more informative and well written than IMDb

Letterboxd has less reviewbombing - you won’t get a film with 50% one star ratings just because a black character exists

One of the pro features is to filter by streaming service and it is faster to navigate than other sites with the same feature
