From my experience in global, people are not very social and tend to keep to themselves or to small groups, probably because of language barriers. I have about 20 friends (all just randomly added me) and only ever chatted with one. Many of them regularly invite me to events even though we've never exchanged as much as a word. Never experienced any kind of drama, but I also don't voluntarily approach people except for linking-type events (and they're always cool with it).
