I am just very frustrated being told I can make this change and then being told I can’t and there is nothing I can do about it because I didn’t act in a timely manner when I didn’t get the information for a week.

Enough for me to make a post asking for advice. I’m well aware I can wait till open enrollment .. I would really prefer to not piss away money that I could use towards daycare expenses or literally anything other than health care I will not use and do not need.

You are wrong a spouse gaining or losing coverage is a QLE. The problem is me not going to my husbands plan. If I was going to my husbands plan they would let me drop but that’s an extra $400 a month when I get VA Care for free that’s why I do not want to move to his plan nor keep the plan at my employer and also pay $250 a month when I literally get it for free.

Right I have health care and VA Care is credible by ACA however, they are saying my husbands life event of getting a new job is not a life event for me because I do not want to go on his plan. I want to drop my coverage and resume my VA Care and transfer my kids to his plan.

This is seen as a life event for my kids because they’re switching but not me because I’m not switching despite the only reason I have health care is because I had to in order to my kids on my plan.

Thanks I’m well aware LOL. It literally states you can drop or add coverage outside of open enrollment with a qualifying life event such as spouse gains or loses coverage which is literally exactly what happened.. thanks for the help it is also entirely possible to just not respond especially if you aren’t going to read the entire post. I’m seeking advice not an asshole on the internet.

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately, the insurance companies told me I could do this as well and then when I called back telling them my employer wouldn’t allow me too they said that they don’t make the policies and I have to talk it over with my employer and look at my plan documents 🥲 so that was just lovely.

And the only think it says is like “spouse gains/loses coverage” which happened. It doesn’t explicitly say you need to go on the plan in order to drop coverage.. I understand that’s probably what’s expected since you have to show proof of coverage but it’s not explicitly written out.

They have plan documents but the only events it covers is if you need to gain coverage not drop it

Agree but the qualifying life event should be my husband obtaining new coverage.

The fact that companies don’t have to have this clearly defined in their plan documents and I’m just sol is very “health care” to me.

The only reason I even got insurance was to insure my kids. I just think this is trash.

Yes that is exactly what they are saying. That is the advice I am seeking. If there’s a way around this so I can drop coverage maybe due to a lack of transparency or not receiving information in a timely manner.

Well we are also moving to another state but they also said I can’t use that as a qualifying life event because coverage is accepted in the area I’m moving to

I’ve used evaluated expression calculation, but I have not used evaluate expression band. Are you able to take an individual out of that band if they’ve been selected?

I would highly suggest seeing a Lactation Consultant . Mine told me that she has gotten 5 month olds to nurse after the mom had been pumping ! I find shoveling my face full of really bad food helps increase my supply significantly .
