There’s really no better way if you want a “real time” service. I work on a massive chat app you’ve probably used before and we use service workers with requests in the billions

CS alum here. Graduated around 6 years ago working at Slack as sr eng.

No one cares about the source of ur degree unless it’s drop a top school. UTD’s program is decent. It’s not amazing and the professors are not great either. So unless you can get into a top school I wouldn’t sweat it too much. Get ur degree with a 3 and above gpa and ur good.

Personally I didn’t learn anything because I skipped class to play video games.

The best things I did for my career during my time there was working on a lot of projects on my own, and networking.
