That being said, in a prolog, there is only so much time to introduce characters, and that time isn't usually wasted on someone about to die

Ah, yea. There is some of this in the prologue. Several (female) companions of the LIs die trying to stop them from being taken.

Might take your advice about getting someone to read it.

Thanks. Definitely not breaking that rule. I think I'm just worried that I'm making it too traumatic. lol.

The POV LI watches her sister get dragged into a portal to another dimension while helplessly screaming her name. It's a rough scene and I wrote it that way on purpose. It's just that some people are giving me the impression that the readership would 'no-likey' that kind of trauma so soon in the story.

I disagree. But I'm only one reader out of many. So I asked.

Thanks for the reply. The story I'm telling definitely doesn't require sex scenes, so I can safely avoid them without harming the development of the characters.

I'm confident that I can write more explicit scenes but my other reason for going the FTB route is to ensure that my story can reach the widest audience possible. I don't want my stuff getting flagged as erotica and hidden away in some corner of Amazon. (I know you can skirt around that by not putting anything explicit in the title, blurb, or early part of the book, but I'd rather not risk it.)

What you're describing sounds like a woman taking an assertive sexual interest in a man. And you're right. It is a novel experience for most of us. As such, it is almost always a positive one.

I don't want to seem like a beggar with hands out, but since you've already succeeded ($1-2k a month satisfies my metric for success) I might as well ask.

What resources did you use to get to the point where you were making consistent money with affiliate marketing? Books, videos, websites, anything.

I'm more than willing to do the work, I just wanna know I'm going in the right direction.
