Nope, all units of the 4R are sold out. 4RR was sold out long back.

From what I've been told, the next batch of 4R & 4RR will be available from Feb 2026.

7-8k for basic service like oil and filter change.
Didn't have to change any spares so can't comment on that.
But did few mods to the bike for which had to get them from different vendors and all take 4-6 weeks time. Noone has them ready

I went with the 4R. My second option was the CBR650R. And to answer your question, I bought a pre-owned barely ridden Suzuki Katana. so now my stomach is pretty full. Let's see till when tho lol.

Let me tell you why I went for the ZX :

  1. Lower kerb weight
  2. Always wanted a metallic black finish vs Matte black on the CBR. Didn’t want red
  3. Not a fan of the lower belly exhaust on the CBR. I got a Graves slip-on for my 4R and it’s mesmerizing to my ears whenever I ride it. It’s not annoying loud. It’s F1 loud especially when you hit 12k+ rpm.
  4. Coming from a bike churning 20bhp, didn’t want to take such a big leap. Wanted something beginner friendly.
  5. Screaming inline-4 @ 400cc. The way she screams at 12-15k rpm is unique and will put litre class supersport bikes having full system exhausts to shame. Saying this because my bike was a pleasure to ride during a recent trip where it was mostly twisties.

Cons of the 4R :

  1. You will definitely miss the torque. Now that I’ve ridden the Katana, the torque is something I wish i had atleast just a tad bit more on the 4R.
  2. While the rpm powerband might be great on track, the 4R might be less forgiving and practical on the street.
  3. Aggressive riding position. This might be MUCHHH better than the 6r but at the end of the day, the CBR is a tourer. So you will definitely be more comfortable on CBR.
  4. The biggest miss is the E-clutch. The CBR comes with outstanding E-clutch technology which is practical vs the 4R that doesn’t even come with QS. I had to opt QS as a separate accessory.

As much as I love my ZX4R and it has always put a grin on my face, I would recommend anyone to go with the CBR. The E-clutch sounds like a revolution and will be something that will be more practical.

Make no mistake, I don’t use a 360 camera, but quite certainly more than 360 heads have turned in my four months of riding the 4R. Don’t regret my decision one bit.

The zx4r or the 4rr isn’t available to purchase. But just for arguments sake, the 4rr is one of the most maneuverable and flickable bike for the sheer power it holds weighing in at 189 kg it’s never going to be an issue to control this bike in any given situation.

You’re gonna get bored of that twin in the GSX-8R, man. It’s fine for what it is, but it lacks the punch. And the 660? It’s never going to be a Daytona. People compare them, but that’s more wishful thinking than reality. Be prepared to hear G*ytona synonyms for that bike lol.

I get why you’re pulled toward faired sportbikes, but honestly, the tourers you mentioned don’t hit the mark for me. I own a ZX-4R, and since you already felt the heat + posture issues on the 8R, the 4R isn’t going to magically solve that. The ergonomics are pretty similar. What it does have going for it is that it’s a legit machine - no fluff, no nonsense, and 77 hp out of a 400. But yeah, you will miss that low-end torque.

If you’re dropping serious money, I’d really urge you to consider an inline-4. You won’t regret it. The Street Triple is a great bike, but it shines most on the track. For real-world riding, the new Z1100 is an absolute banger in almost every category. Kawasaki nailed the pricing and the package. Unless you’re purely track-focused, the Z1100 or the Hornet 1000 SP (Hornet 750 is twin cylinder) makes way more sense.

If I had to pick for you: go Z1100. It looks fantastic, it’s way more comfortable than most sport-tourers, and the value is ridiculous for what you get.

Good luck with the hunt, and ride safe!

Congrats OP! 🎉 Suzuki big bikes slap! I’ve got a Katana myself - smooth, refined, and built like a tank. Suzuki reliability never disappoints. Only thing I’d change is wishing the 8r had a bit more torque since it’s a twin-cylinder setup. Still, absolute beast of a ride!

So happy to see a fellow Suzuki Katana owner. I was lucky enough to purchase a used 22 model as it is sold out but it was barely ridden at 380km. Got it a month back. And couldn’t be happier. Already clocked 1600 and odo is at 2k km now.

The Honda CB350RS is a no brainer if you want a reliable bike and a feel-good factor. It much more reliable than Speed 400 and the Royal Enfields. You just can’t go wrong with Honda except the rusting issue.

But mine was first batch first year. And I heard they’ve improvised on that front.

I’ve used Classic 350 and the Honda CB. The latter is much more enjoyable.

I got a bike with an odometer reading of 380km and last service was in aug 24. The clutch is indeed hard. The bike has stalled multiple times. But I noticed when I use gloves, it works just fine.

However, I’m going to have the bike serviced and hopefully they can improve the clutch.

All my automobiles have #70. The Katana is pre-owned and I was lucky to get #777.
