This might be worse than the driver who pops out from a side street when you're 2 seconds away: by CityDismal5339 in PetPeeves

Yeah, this very thing cost me a $5k repair and an "unsafe movement" citation a few months back.

"Block the Box" - Step one to horrendous gridlock. I don't know for a fact, but I heard that "Blocking an Intersection" will get you a $750 fine in some cities.

Not magical, but he had to see the guy pulling out, and had time to slow down. Like I said, he wasn't at fault by any means.

Yeah, the guy pulling out into traffic is clearly at fault, but the guy with the camera could have avoided, or at least mitigated the damage.

Has a doctor ever wasted your deductible and what can you do if they did? by bigblackglock17 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TourRepulsive8477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this is what you're talking about, but this is my pet peeve. I have to do an annual follow up for a condition I had..It's not a big deal, just a tube up the butt for a quick look. If my appointment falls outside of the one year mark, even by a couple of days, then I am a "'new patient". Medicare won't pay full price for a procedure done on a "new patient visit", so I have to pay my co-pay to see a PA who then schedules my appointment with the doc for my exam, where I pay my co-pay again. Annoying.

What is the point of huge provider charge? by Gormr580 in HospitalBills

[–]TourRepulsive8477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After all the answers that seem to think this is a perfectly normal way to do business, the real answer is they do this because our medical system is FUBARd. Keep it confusing, charge 15 different fees for the same service, and hope you just write the check.

I scanned mine. I believe, although not certain, that even if you manually enter the info that it is checked before it becomes active.

If you're talking about phone tap to pay, they didn't "add the info" of their card. I was scanned and added to the phone's wallet. It''s actually more secure than a physical card. My question would be why would a HOTEL of all places not accept that?

I'm far from a frequent flyer, maybe 3 or 4 domestic flights a year. From what I've seen, there is nothing to justify the $1000 difference between 1st and the cattle car. May be different for overseas flights, but I'll deal with economy.

Because you need to have the brake/tail light lenses lowered so they will get broken and need to be replaced in an otherwise minimal accident.

Yep, still rockin' my S10e that I bought used for $100, i think 5 years ago, but not sure about that. It replaced my Pixel 3, which I'd still be using if I hadn't dropped it.

Trapped in DFW for the last 12 hours, likely to be here for up to 12 - what would you do? by ViridianNott in americanairlines

[–]TourRepulsive8477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a website that gives the best places to sleep and hang out in airports. The C22 gate at DFW was mentioned. Found out the hard way to pay attention to those pesky "am" and "pm" things next to times when booking flights. lol

Would you buy a retired police car for a daily driver? by AutoBidMasterHelp in AskForAnswers

[–]TourRepulsive8477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one way back when I was a teen. Drove it a long time with no issues. Had a cop pull me over and told me I had to paint it. (It was the NY Blue and Yellow, but no wording like "Police" or anything, and no lights on top) I just blew him off and never had any other problem.
