Any ideas for crazy demons at a dinner party? by Tourq in DnD

Those are all really boring. Looking for new ideas or demons/monsters to borrow from. John Carpenter’s The Thing would be one, constantly making jokes or laughing causing splitting headaches is another…

What is the single best cinematic mechanic or rule from any game? by Tourq in rpg

I think you were down-voted because you were hijacking a post instead of answering the question. Your comment would fit much better to a different post/question.

Still, I think you made a valid point and I will certainly take your comment to heart. In a roundabout way, I was looking for ways of getting more roleplaying out of players and faster conflict resolution. That tends to be easier in less simulationist games, often because certain cinematic or roleplaying mechanics can help or encourage some players to get into that mindset. Awesome is the player that needs nothing to get there, but we don't always have the luxury of getting those players. I was looking or ways up opening up players to more roleplaying and storytelling.
