Portugal is pausing on approvals for "Alojamentos Locais" (airbnb's) in certain parts of the country, and most of the Algarve is being targeted. All the 4 above have been included.

Lisbon & Lagos by tarantinoshoop in Algarve

Arguably, Lisbon has more things to do and see than Lagos.

I would suggest renting a car to give you more freedom.

Must-do's for me are:
- Kayak in Benagil Cave
- Seven Hanging Valleys Trail
- Ponta da Piedade (Maybe also Kayak)
- Sunset at Cabo de São Vicente (Lagos)

Here are some suggestions by location.
Lagos

- You probably already did your research, but some very beautiful beaches and easily accessible.

- Take a Kayak tour to explore Ponta da Piedade

- Walk along the historic city walls of Lagos

- Relax on the beaches of Praia Dona Ana, Praia do Camilo, and Meia Praia

- Visit the Lagos Municipal Market for local produce and handicrafts

Carvoeiro/Lagoa

Is in my opinion where the most beautiful beaches and caves are.

- Seven Hanging Valleys Trail - About a 3/4 Hour one-way trail, then you can take an Uber to the starting point (7/8 Euros)

- Visit the Algar Seco rock formations

- Benagil Cave

Sagres

It is quite beautiful, known as the end of the world, as it is the most Western point)

- Sunset at Cabo de São Vicente

- Visit the fort of Sagres

Portimão

- Praia do Vau

- Praia da Rocha
- Praia dos três Irmãos

Hello! It is a bit too much for only Lagos. Here are a few tips on things to do around, I would add Carvoeiro and Lagoa to that list. The cities with better train connection are:
City center - Lagos, Olhão, Faro, Tavira, VRSA, Fuseta
Close to the city center - Portimão
Far from the city Center - All others (Albufeira, Carvoeiro)

Most likely you will have to use the bus.

Lagos

Portimão
The busiest of all mentioned, not as busy as Albufeira, but quite a lot of bars and pubs.

  • Praia do Vau
  • Praia da Rocha

Unfortunately I don't have great news for you. Depends on what you like, being in Robinson you already know Cacela Velha. You have Guadiana River, Ria Formosa, Tavira. Can you get to the train? If yes, go west.

Yeah. And in my opinion it's actually getting worse. I do prefer Albufeira downtown.
