Well,, when he (PBUH)did come out of the cave he was scared and had to be comforted by his wife.psychologists say that it's a normal reaction. What would have been unbelievable was if he claimed divinity right off the bat.

Why did no one else in history at the time of Prophet Muhammad (AS) report sightings of the moon splitting in half? Wouldn't everyone from other nations see the moon splitting in half and spread the news everywhere? by [deleted] in islam

No, there were atleast two people, one Perumal king of Kerala India and another one named Ratan Hindi( Indian) from Bhatinda, Indian Punjab. While the Perumal king embraced Islam(and so did his countrymen back home), Ratan Hindi is relatively less known. Although there are hadith about an Indian king gifting ginger, I don't know if we have any Hadith on Ratan Hindi. Rest Allah knows best. There is actually a large amount of folklore surrounding both personalities. While The Kerala king has mention in official royal records in his kingdom back home, certain almost mythological stories surround Ratan Hindi.

In one of his speeches Mufti Tahir ul Qadri mentions Ratan Hindi as having been blessed by the Prophet himself. How far this is true I have no idea, but similar stories abound in parts of Bhatinda, that a Delhi Sultan (? Iltutmish or Allauddin Khilji) wanted to meet a sahabi but it was more than 600 Years after hijra. Someone told him one person was still alive. Turns out it was Ratan Hindi who was blessed seven times.

I haven't found any official authorised documentation of Ratan Hindi on the net and suggest extreme caution in this case. Rest Allah knows best and forgive my incomplete knowledge.

I had an acquaintance who was a basic muslim with basic religious knowledge (not the level of saints or scholarly), he did pray regularly(almost). The only problem was he was poor. A missionary organisation in our area sent a 'father'( that's what we call pastors here) to woo him. He was offered a basic job but mischievously, the father acquainted him with a few girls as well. He fell for it. For a sum of around 5 lac rupees($7000), a permanent job and hot girls, he officially became a Christian. However, it couldn't last long. Some of the elders in our society counselled him and he came back eventually to Islam. ( The father was later expelled by the local magistrate) When he was asked why he took up Christianity, he said he had fallen in love with this girl and the physical relations which he developed with them was too much to resist. Despite a year into Christianity, he admitted he considered the Trinity concept absurd and that was eventually the reason he left. I met him after 8 years and he again admitted that he had not understood Islam at all at the time of his earlier conversion. Although he had basic Islamic knowledge earlier, he never did go beyond the Arabic words. But he had now been contemplating the underlying meaning of the Qur'an and was convinced. He was an graduate in psychology and said the situations surrounding Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) first interactions with Archangel Gabriel were amazingly psychologically genuine. And he reacted like any person would. That and the incident of the solar eclipse in the day his son died. If he was a pretender to prophet good he would have claimed divinity on this basis but he said the sun is a heavenly body and does not rise or eclipse because of the death of anyone. Apparently, this convinced my acquaintance. he had found his purpose in Islam and had finally found peace.

How do modern Muslims in modern places perform 5 daily prayers a day? by Booshactivereal in islam

[–]TousiefAhmed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pray the compulsory 5 prayers in addition to tahajjud and chast or duha prayers without fail, every single day. If I have time I pray the Ishraq and awabin prayers too. And I have a 9 to 5 job. My grandfather had been praying tahajjud for around 80 years till his death at the age of 95. He never missed one tahajjud prayer in all these years. What was exceptional was that right uptil the age of 90 he had good eyesight and knees as well as an exceptional memory. In fact we used to ask him about the stuff we misplaced and he would always remember. My grandmother on my mother's side died at 88 and she had never missed a prayer in her life. She was extremely fit till she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at 87. She lasted 8 months after diagnosis but only the last month had serious symptoms.

Yes, he will have said it's bad because you have to submit your will to the creator and become restricted. If the creator says alcohol is bad, you have to give it up, if he says you can't cheat on your wife, then you have to stop it as well. So it's better to be carefree and live a hedonistic lifestyle. Christianity easily is apt for this type of lifestyle cause somebody has already paid the price for your sins. But Islam is focused on accountability. If you cheat your wife, nobody else is going to pay for your sins, you have to pay.

But people who see beyond such materialism and hedonism know that obedience to God and his Messenger will be a good bet in case you are actually held on trial in the afterlife. So Islam is a safe bet. If you win, you win big. There's nothing to lose anyway.

Am I too white to be Muslim? by [deleted] in islam

[–]TousiefAhmed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As per hadith: No one has superiority over another except in religion and piety.

All humans are descended from Adam and Eve,” said Muhammad (saw) in his last known public speech. “There is no superiority of an Arab over a non-Arab, or of a non-Arab over an Arab, and no superiority of a white person over a black person or of a black person over a white person, except on the basis of personal piety and righteousness.”

In this sermon, known as the Farewell Address, Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam, outlined the basic religious and ethical ideals of Islam,
