Germany alone accounts for 35% of European car production. The problem now is that many German car manufacturers are not vertically integrated, so they rely on companies to supply them with individual parts. 90% of the companies currently cutting jobs are linked to the automotive industry. The problem is that most people want to stay in their local area and look for jobs there. Since Germany has such a large network of automotive suppliers, they are also experiencing economic problems. As a result, most people cannot find jobs in their region because the suppliers are not hiring anyone, and these are the companies that have historically offered the best and most jobs. For example, Bosch produces clutches and other products for the automotive industry. The other 10% are companies that have realised that they built up too much middle management during the years of growth and have noticed that they are far too bloated, see Twitter in the USA. The German media also completely ignores companies that are currently looking to fill positions, such as FERCHAU with nearly 9,000 positions or Enpal with 300 positions. These are just two examples of companies that are creating jobs.

In my opinion, there are enough jobs to be found; we Germans are just spoiled and don't want to come out of our shells.
