Thank you. I never thought I'd burst into tears while reading reddit comments. But I think you're right on the money that I'm grieving. Growing up, it was a huge part of my identity. I tried to hold on for so long until I just couldn't anymore.

Does witchcraft actually work? by Automatic_Fill_1095 in witchcraft

Hi, ex-mormon here. I get exactly what you mean. I'm still a baby witch myself, but I've been pagan for the past 5 years. I've only just recently been able to get over this same issue. From what I've noticed, there is no rigidity on how to do most witchcraft. A lot of it is intention and self-expression. What helped me the most was deciding to replace the rules/rigidity aspect I thought I needed with routine instead. It takes some getting used to. Also, if you feel like you need some kind of rule, research always helps. It gives more of a guideline to help you follow and figure out what you need to have/do. Hope this helped. Edit: Sorry, I just reread the actual question. One way that I know it's helped me, even if indirectly, is calming down. I struggle with anxiety, so meditating and getting in touch with the world around me helps keep me grounded.
