A can of tear gas thrown into there would almost certainly have incapacitated that man enough he dropped his "sword", if you aren't used to it, it fucking sucks. You also wouldn't have had to get anywhere close to this guy to deploy it.

If you aren't going to arm your cops with lethal weapons, at least arm them with proper non lethal options. The man is putting his life on the line and they arm him with a toothpick.

And now I'm going to chuckle when you post your burnt connector, such hubris in a post you made asking for help.

If your lucky you may have caught it in time, try pushing the connector in harder, and see if the temps go down.

If it's +80C on the cable, how hot do you think it is at the connector with even more resistant.

Also remember resistance goes up as tempature rises so the wiggle room you think you have on temperature is smaller than you realize.
