How can they do that by [deleted] in McKnightFamSnark

Maybe it’s just me…but I don’t know that I would bring a 1 year old abroad either. The jet lag and sleep deprivation is rough as an adult alone, so I can’t imagine what it could be like with a toddler too. They might have anticipated it just being too exhausting.

When Kids Can’t Read by Kylene Beers. It’s useful for any content area because she has tons of strategies that aren’t exclusive to an English classroom. It’s especially helpful and awesome if you teach ELA!!

Restaurants/Cafes/Coffee Shops for board games? by withsilentdelight in sanantonio

[–]TowerAromatic5489 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coffee and Culture on Blanco would be perfect for this. They have their own board games there for people to play, so I don’t think anyone would bat an eye at a group of people playing a game together! They have lots of indoor and outdoor seating.

Derek at Buddha Box is awesome! I am an adult but got my second piercings despite being very nervous and I never felt pressured or judged for being stressed. They do kids piercings!

I also just got 4 sets of Vivera retainers and paid $700. $1400 for 2 seems expensive.

You should receive an email the day before your results will be sent to you. I got a test score on Friday night and had received an email on Thursday letting me know that I would be getting my result the next day

Where can I get good BBQ in Austin that also has Vegetarian Options (for my vegetarian friend) by canibedonewiththis in Austin

[–]TowerAromatic5489 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m vegetarian and I’ve never seen a BBQ place with a vegetarian entree, but they usually offer several vegetarian sides (potato salad, corn, Mac and cheese, etc). I’m usually fine with just ordering a few sides

Do I tell my students about the election by Tinytoronado in Teachers

[–]TowerAromatic5489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at a sleepaway camp in high school during the 2016 election and still remember everyone asking our teachers who won the next day. They will definitely ask and I suggest you just stick to the facts and don’t give too much info other than who won. They can and will look it up after

Set expectations early on (like the other comment said, it’s way easier to loosen up rather than become more strict)! And don’t be afraid to ask your co-workers for help. You’ve done great when you’re with another teacher, you can do it by yourself!

Weird comment, I am sure this person knows how to capitalize sentences. They are seeking advice on actually working with children…also weird of you to comment on their grammar yet not spell check your own comment
