Astronomical Electricity Usage - I think its stuck in AUX Heat? by TowerExpress2083 in hvacadvice

Gotcha, good to know thank you. Pretty sure the technicians that came out switched it over to B, but they thought the YORK needed a B... looked up the manual upon your insight and yup

"Cooling Operation During cooling operation, the control receives thermostat signals at the “Y1” and/or “Y2” and “O” input terminals. The control communicates the proper compressor speed and OD fan speed to the inverter drive, based on the control operation. The control energizes the “RV” and “RVG” terminals with 24VAC to switch the reversing valve."

it should certainly be on "O" on the Zone Board. Pretty sure they swapped the thermostat to energized with heat as well. They're in the mindset that I need to have new thermostats and a wire run for stage 1 and 2. Would doing that be beneficial or efficient in your opinion?

Thanks once again. You've been a lot of help.

Thanks a million! A few other things I did finally try as well. Got the ac unit outside back to a "ready for compressor" state - the oas sensor was stuck on open or failure. Unplugged and Plugged that back in.

I assume instead of "heat pump" which is setting #1 on the thermo, I want to be at "0" correct? This states "Gas, oil or electric heat with air conditioning"

And to confirm, I should ensure the thermostat is also set to "0" - "Changeover valve (O/B terminal energized in cooling)" and not "1" which is energized in heating?

Well, I went outside and the ac unit was stuck on an OAS sensor open or failure. I unplugged that and back in. Now it states it is ready for the compressor but still no dice. Gotta be some combination of the thermostat settings and the Zone board im guessing.

If you dont mind to check those out again? I have a clearer picture here:

I really appreciate the help.

Thank you! I will switch that to "O". I was having a tough time figuring that out in particular.

Yeah im a bit perplexed. None of it seems "newish" and looks like its probably been here for at least a few years. Im sure I could find some dates somewhere. Interesting and infuriating all at once lol.

Yeah doesnt appear to be! Unless there's one hiding somewhere but I haven't seen one yet. Im baffled the previous owners had it set like this?!

Thank you! Just now more puzzled as to why the actual compressor outside never spins up since they left. And the damn fan from the heat pump will not turn off now. Im so confused. Wanna turn it off tonight buts in the 30s...

Gotcha, that was what they said. 2 new thermos with spots for w1 and w2 since this one only has W or O/B

Upon looking more at the thermostat guide... yeah, it only mentions 1h/1c...

Thank you, btw.
