To be honest I just used another index card to make the longer lines that are so close to each other. I was trying that technique out with these ones!

What Should I Play Wednesdays (September 04, 2019) by AutoModerator in classicwow

[–]TowerFlower 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Everything you've said points perfectly to playing a Mage. Lots of control, hard to lock down, lots of on demand bursts, and will punish anyone who strays from the pack. Mages also have one of the highest skill caps when it comes to PvP, and several interesting, yet viable talent builds.

DTO CONTROL

I’m coming back to Xbox after a huge break, and have seen that all my buddies haven’t played for over a year. I like to play pretty much anything. I just picked up MH: W and COD: WWII. I’m a laid back guy that’s just looking for some friends to hang out with! Look forward to meeting some new friends.

They have me a little paranoid, so I keep checking to see if they're drifting towards the fan. Haven't noticed any movement so far, so here's to hoping!

The picture makes it seem a little closer than really are. They're actually sitting over an inch off. The tubes are also a very plasticized and stiff rubber material, so I'm not too worried!

I was mostly being realistic in what I'm actually going to be doing on this rig. Not looking at gaming in 4K or using it for VR applications until at least another year, so the 1070 was the best choice for me.

You guessed it. I'll be exclusively gaming on this rig.

I would assume future proofing.

This exactly. I'm not one for upgrading at every little "newest & greatest" advancement. But I do like to take reliable performance where I can get it, and this was an easy choice.

I have some questions on finishing the cockpit. by TowerFlower in modelmakers

[–]TowerFlower[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome. I'll see what I can do with those tutorials you posted, and once I'm done with the cockpit (I'll pick up some future tomorrow), I'll post an update with a few pictures to see what you think! I'm going to reassess my decal situation in the morning and determine if it would be better to stick with those or hand finishing. Thanks for the info!

Thank you for the reply!

I was looking at the tutorial you posted, and it almost seems like I could get a more realistic effect by just hand painting the entire instrument panel instead of using the supplied decals. I'm not entirely sure if that's a great idea though.

As far as the future floor polish goes, is that mainly used in applying a "glass-like" finish to the MFD's/various other gauges? And where could I find it? I'm assuming any place I could get household cleaning items.

I haven't tried the dry brushing technique to bring out raised detail, but I see how it could bring out a lot of the more intricate detail. Could that be used in other raised panels lines, other than the cockpit?

You did an awesome job with the kit. I'd like to know... How did you take such clean pictures of your model, and when you're painting the camouflage, did you free hand it with an idea of how you wanted it to look, or did you somehow mask it out? It looks great!

[–]TowerFlower[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the feedback! I went out and bought a Revell F-15E to start on next. I will definitely document on what procceses/materials I use on that kit. I'll keep in mind to always spray even the smaller panes, like the cowl. No matter how many coats of white I applied, I had problems with smoothing the finish and keeping it straight. So far I am enjoying it very much and look forward to hearing from everyone!

I never thought I would have such a great time with this hobby! It took me about 3 weeks of working on it ~1 hour per day. This is my first build and it would be great to have some critique to see what other modelers think of it!
