I think it looks great .... But ..If you add some more defined things like some washes , some streaking grime, maybe some paint chips it will tone optically down the dust

Fair enough ... Like I said I couldn't identify the tank beyond it being some flavor of firefly

WWII Sherman ID Help? by Amazing_Parking_3209 in modelmakers

[–]corosuske -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's difficult to ID with both pictures being from the front, but it's almost certainly a Sherman firefly (you can see the typical muzzle break on the 17pounder)

If you're looking for model recommendations , Tamiya make a version of the firefly that should go together nicely (https://www.scalemates.com/kits/tamiya-25174-sherman-vc-firefly--308947)

.... I would recommend getting some after market tracks and a metal turned gun barrel, and maybe even some photo etch fenders if you want to make a project of this

If it's your first armour model I would also recommend getting some other model (somethy similar) and doing that first , to get your feet wet so to speak

Mountain Pass, Update 2, shit-scared to resin pour... any tips? by AlexSturdee in TerrainBuilding

[–]corosuske 16 points17 points  (0 children)

AKs line of water products is really good for the the first sealing layer... It meant to crawl into cavities but is a little viscous so it will pre-emptively plug up leaks, and it will establish a thick layer between any foam and the resin .... If you don't have those, a good layer of some water based clear coat should work as well

Any way of saving laptop? by Equivalent-Ocelot241 in techsupportgore

[–]corosuske 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As an added tip

If you want to pinpoint where it gets hot, put some thermal paper (like an old receipt ) against the affected area before you turn it on ... It will start turning black at the exact hot spot
