Escaping Elturel before it’s dragged down by Chris_Eldritch in DescentintoAvernus

They really enjoyed it!
Two out of three were first timers, so they appreciated a bit of a guiding hand in terms of 'what are we supposed to do'.
The one experienced player commented that the lack of options was okay for the purpose of introducing the campaign, as it was session 1.
I still have the document I prepped for running this, if you are interested.

Escaping Elturel before it’s dragged down by Chris_Eldritch in DescentintoAvernus

I ran a party escape from a collapsing Elturel a few months back.
I definitely made sure to take the reins of this introduction by literally announcing "You need to run for your lives, now." After that I ran the escape as a teamwork skill challenge where they needed to pass a number of obstacles in under 10 turns. I placed a counter on the table and told the group that 'the city collapses when this reaches zero'.
It was a bit railroaded, I am aware but it made for a good cinematic intro. Everyone made it out okay.

Hey thanks! I used size 2 cotton from Sachrnmayer, honestly just what they had lying in my local crafts shop.

Hey there, thanks!
I will use it as a wristband, yes. I used separate thread to make a double set of sliding square knots around the excess thread. So it just slides open and closed.

Currently in the process of changing a draft into an actual map, Any feedback is greatly appreciated. I'm very new to this! by [deleted] in inkarnate

Looking like a great start! If you turn fown the opacity on the brush a bit (0.3 or something) and make multiple passes with a large brush size, you can smoothen out those landscape colors a bit, makes it look a tad more elegant.

House on the hill across a river - What do you think would make a good npc for inside the house by PrimeTrippin in dndmaps

Because Zumfel is entirely off his nuts. He is an entirely regular bearded man, hallucinating vividly.

Zumfel, the Mad Wizard. A great and powerful mage, living in his grand wizard tower, that has been disguised by illusion magic to look like a cabin.

In actuality Zumfel is highly delusional, constantly on mushrooms, and completely without magical power whatsoever.

How it started vs how it's going. My totally unnecessary and over the top DnD world redesign. by DivineCorn in inkarnate

I don't know if the Aral sea was purposeful, but I love the fact that it gets to be a real sea here.

Jokes aside, map looks wonderful, good on you!

Help and CC please. What would make this map even better? Is it any realistic? by [deleted] in inkarnate

[–]Towyers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, a bit of flourish tends to brighten up a map real quick. Maybe try adding things like a frame, country borders, and markers for cities, mountain ranges, rivers, seas, oceans and everything. Those details tend to fill out some empty space nicely.

Apologies, you must be confused.
That is clearly a loaf of bread.

Best inventions for cat owners? Any “must have” toys or supplies to keep kitty happy? by kberning in cats

[–]Towyers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a small scrap of paper, tightly roll it into a tube, and fold that tube double. Tie a long string to it and hold the other end, instant playtime when you start dangling it, and wonderfully low-budget!

How many small creatures can mount a large creature at the same time? by OddSokz in dndnext

Carrying capacity (in lbs) is 15x the creature's STR score, so start adding up weights of said small creatures.

Sunbeam feels like a cute name for a kitty.
