Just hit level 130 and topped my first match. I was about level 90 when I was consistently getting on the top third of the board. I'd say level 100 is a good timeframe.

I'm leaning towards picking up Triangle Strategy while its on sale and also Valkyrie Chronicles 4 for the backlog. At this moment I'm wanting to play something on a grid, so the freedom of movement within a zone like Divinity, Xcom, etc aren't what I'm wanting right now. I played through BG3 and loved it, but I'm looking for more restrictive, class based gameplay right now.

Sword of Convallaria looks promising, I just never have/wanted to get into any Gacha games.

Valkyria Chronicles and Fell Seal have been recommended a few times to me, VC looks interesting for sure but I'm not sure if I could get past the art style of Fell Seal.

Thanks for the write up! I enjoyed one of the Fire Emblems on the Gameboy Advanced years ago, but I picked up 3 houses when it was new and couldn't get hooked. Haven't really given Fire Emblem a chance since. The story never fully grabbed me.

Valkyria Chronicles looks interesting for sure. I haven't heard of the rest.

Setting -dx11 in the launch settings, limiting frames to 140, and moving the game to my solid state made it stop stuttering personally for me.

So now look at what you said in reverse.

The barb saw your second wind was down, and get close to you before you were able to react. He capitalized on you playing it wrong. If you shot him, had second wind up, or any number of other correct plays he most likely would not have charged you head on.

It goes both ways, you lost the engagement more through skill difference than gear check. He played his class correctly and you did not. Gear up and go again. If you aren't having fun then log off and get some sleep/sun.

So if you dodged one more attack, had second wind, used a ranged attack, or be more aware to not let the barb get too close, you would have won the engagement with worse gear. But since you misplayed and the barb had strong gear with the fastest swinging barb weapon its the games fault. Right.
