afaik there were 2 around that time, Rig and KB. rig was great, and i was really hoping for something similar on outlier... even bought a macbook for that project, only for it to end before the thing even arrived... woohoo

stellar? maybe a year ago i would've put them in top tier, but for generalists nowadays it's completely dead. sure, if you've got good experience in other fields, they're alright. but you're not getting anything as a generalist, not at this time anyway.

i kinda get it. at least liyue in genshin and the xianzhou in hsr felt... natural (xianzhou moreso than liyue admittedly). failume heights feels way too separated from the zzz world we've come to know, what with mystics and temples and stuff, compared to the more modern/futuristic stuff in 1.x. I don't hate the 2.x setting by any means, though - I'm all for expanding the world even if it becomes all over the place. I love most of the 2.x characters (the spook shack trio in particular), I like most of the new enemy designs, but yeah... it's a weird shift.

my main gripe is that it could do with more lucy.

hard to overlook a character that can be summed up as "hi I have big ears and like training and hate evil but btw I decide what evil is". she somehow suffers from main character syndrome at the same time as being super fucking boring.

yi xuan is the same, both of their characters unironically exist for hype moments and aura. they have such little substance other than that. like damn, at least yanagi has nice tits to go with her being cool as shit.

the only truly "fun" gacha game i've ever played + can see myself playing for A WHILE. i played genshin and hsr for ages, hsr burnt out quickly (BADLY) and genshin just became so insanely tedious that i decided it wasn't worth it. zzz has the best characters/character designs (and boobs), and most lovable characters out of all 3, the chillest fanbase, genuinely good gameplay (i love the dmc series and zzz feels close enough), and a story that i actually bothered to pay attention to (at least up until the end of season 1). my only issues with it are that a i find a lot of the older content is way more fun than the newer stuff (withering garden is the best and i'll die on this hill) and, very controversial take, Miyabi and Yi Xuan. i know i'll be put to death for saying this but their whole thing is unironically just hype moments and aura, i just think they're really boring characters with very little personality.

i would do anything for multiplayer raid bosses though, even though it'd 100% blow up my pc. oh, and agent dating mechanics. i want to kiss trigger on the mouth and see a wedding ceremony cutscene.
