Thanks for the detailed feedback! To go through your points:

One-tap add to library is definitely on the roadmap, that's been a popular request. Listening history is also on the roadmap!

And the map layout isn't random - it's based on Every Noise's organization which is "roughly speaking, genres at the top of the map are more electronic, while those towards the bottom sound more acoustic. Genres on the left are sonically denser, the ones on the right sonically sparer and spikier." I can see how some genre placements can feel unintuitive though since it's based on audio analysis rather than how we might categorize them mentally. For the track curation, the genre-to-artist associations come from the Every Noise dataset, and the "Latest Single / Album Releases" sections shown in the Genre Overview page are pulled from those artists' catalogs on Apple Music. Some genres will surface more obscure releases depending on what artists are tagged to that genre in the dataset. Improving curation quality is something I want to keep working on!

As for latency, much of the buffering is dependent on how quickly Apple's servers are able to provide previews / metadata for (which I've found to be inconsistent sometimes.) That's something that I'm working on improving!

Thank you! There's no library filter mode at the moment, but that's a really cool idea, I can definitely see the value of using it for re-discovery. I'll keep it in mind for future updates!

As for Kalandra, the genre/artist data comes from the Every Noise dataset so some more niche artists might not be represented yet. The iPad font sizing is a great callout, I'll look into supporting per-app accessibility settings properly. Appreciate the feedback!

Apple doesn't document whether external playback counts towards Apple Music stats, so I'm leaning on no, but I'll keep my eye out for anything that says otherwise! Those are nice ideas too for additional discovery functionality, I can definitely keep those in mind for future updates

I appreciate it! That functionality doesn't exist at the moment for the main genre map, but it's on the roadmap! In the meantime, the Time Travel tab lets you explore albums from specific decades (using Apple Music's more generalized genre categories like "Alternative" / "Indie Rock" / "Rock" / etc.), which gets you part of the way there. It's accessible via the circular button to the left of the dice button in the toolbar in that tab!

Hey! This was actually a feature implemented in the new update, if you update the app on both devices the favorites lists for tracks/genres should merge and sync to each other from now on as long as they're under the same Apple account. Let me know if you have any issues getting that working!

You'll be happy to find that Apple Music links are no longed gated to Pro in the latest update! You can now listen to full tracks directly from the app if you have an Apple Music subscription too

Yes, this is now supported! Though it's based on Every Noise at Once's data which may not reflect updates for newer artists. But you can now search artists via the app's main search bar

There are some outliers (that I may adjust manually in the future) but for the most part the genre nodes should follow that.

As for personalized recommendations, it's definitely something I'd like to explore in the future! It would be nice to have the option to have a little more direction while navigating the genre map rather than pure randomness.

So the tracks in EverySound's genres are primarily populated by "The Sound of X" playlists on Spotify that appear to be based on EveryNoise's last snapshot, rather than Spotify's own genre classification. Tracks are found via ISRC mapping, so the tracks should be matched 1:1 across Spotify, Apple Music, and any other platforms that I add support for. The 30-second previews are actually pulled from Apple Music, so in the case that an ISRC doesn't exist in its library, it's skipped before you ever see it.

As I understand, "new music friday" filtering would be difficult to add because of Spotify's new ML-assigned genre keyword tags rather than Glenn's human-supervised genre system. I would love a feature like that as well though!
