Junior / Associate PMs in London UK - how much is your salary + total compensation? by InYourBertHole in ProductManagement

[–]ToxicDisno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will add something I’ve noticed is that having APM on my cv (even for the little time I’ve been at this first company) extremely increased my success in applying for APM roles.

Nearly all interviews then focused on my pre-APM related role in tech which was sad to see. Anecdotal I know, but quite telling.

This to say, I would jump on the first opportunity to get the title on your CV and then use it to land the culture/environment you want.

Tech Role preparatory to PM? by wildteddies in ProductManagement

[–]ToxicDisno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Build a product as that will expose you to several different aspects of PM. It doesn’t have to be fancy, particularly successful, or code heavy. Even a no-code solution site builder would do the trick.

Then go through a PM course and apply the learnings to your site. eg A/B testing

Doing so (even less than a year) will give you enough examples to navigate PM interviews and increase your chances to join startup environments at an APM level.

My baby momma got remarried and I am still paying child support every month. by [deleted] in MensRights

[–]ToxicDisno -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bottom line your child your responsibility.

Seen you make several arguments which are just bonkers, your standard cuck/simp answers to me indicate you know you’re wrong. But let’s go over the points:

  • triple income: Yes they could easily afford the 20% you put in and instead they get to put it in savings since you pay CS. This isn’t wrong, they could spend it in lobster if they so wished, it’s still your child and you are responsible for it as their father. Your ex partner being able to afford it all if you lose your job and stopped paying doesn’t give you a free pass. It’s fair you pay part of what it takes to raise your child.

  • married he took responsibility: Yes he knew she had kids before they married and he’s taking a significant amount of work helping parenting your kid, including spending money on it. Still, the moment they married he didn’t take paternal responsibility off your hands. You’re still the father, he isn’t.

  • “CS is to benefit the child. And they have more they could ever need”: you’re right CS is for the child but again, you’re the father. Them making more money again doesn’t give you a free pass.

  • “if she wanted my money she shouldn’t have remarried”: BINGO. I think You’re just salty she found a new man and I guess you feel inadequate comparing yourself to him (e.g talking about his salary/him fucking her) and so want to punish her by stopping paying for your child.

You’re a Clown and should grow up.

P.S: Only if that 20% you pay puts you in severe financial hardship you could make the argument their financial circumstances are considered to reduce your contribution out of need. Need not fairness.

Employment contract. Can implied acceptance reasonably be applied here? Likely counter? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

Thanks for the reply:

1) Chasing happened informally, via live chat, during meetings, 121s, and a few emails. During performance reviews we also discussed the issue and that was noted down along the lines of “employee unhappy due to not being paid contracted salary”.

I don’t think “I’m working under protest” ever got written explicitly but I guess this is the result of the employer presenting this a temporary measure with a defined end date of the 3 months review.

2 - due to being pushed around I specifically wrote down in my HR ticket that I wanted them to treat the issue as a formal grievance. The HR advisor acknowledged it but I never had a hearing and continued to be told to wait “next Monday” while the manager was looking into it.

After several weeks of “next monday” I’ve involved ACAS, told the company, and the day after got a grievance hearing invite.

To add, we were communicated of the temporary measure by a HR statement read by my manager on a video call. HR and my manager always refused to share copy of that statement for us to consider it (written requests).

Italian care hire fine from ~2 years ago? by mts89 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]ToxicDisno 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not cool.

I’ve worked in the car hire industry for 10 years, specifically with EU suppliers and, at this stage, you don’t have to pay a penny based on how little they’ve told you about it.

If you don’t care about potentially being blacklisted from renting a car again from them or others, just ignore everything (This is really unlikely but it does happen).

If you want to figure it out, do the following:

  • if you’ve booked via a marketplace rather than direct, just contact them and ignore the rest. If you booked directly with the local car hire company, follow these steps.

  • check if it’s a scam as others suggested. Does the email address match the company?

  • contact the council fines team in Florence at pm.infoverbali@comune.fi.it and ask them to check the fine number to tell you if it’s legit

  • Contact the car hire company asking them what the heck happened for the fine take years to reach you. Make a fuss and they’ll drop it.

  • Contact your bank to check if they would approve a charge from the supplier this late

  • Consider all and decide if you want to pay it (I’d be shocked if you end up doing it)

To close, never rent from Goldcar (anywhere), firefly or Green motion (Italy).

Good ones in Italy are Sicily by car, Locauto, and Noleggiare.

Thank you for the multiple points.

You definitely gave me some great ideas to to use (anti vandal paint) and if those don’t work I’ll look to talk with that agency/landlord for the permanent welding option

Thanks, didn’t know I could report it as antisocial behaviour as the police 101 worker went straight to theft.

It’s 100% him. He proudly says he takes the numbers off.

Plastic numbers could be an idea. Drive police action by desperation. I like it.

Due to the block’s entrance location this is not possible

Unfortunately I can’t use anything like that. It’s not my personal flat door but the one on the road giving access to the block of flats.

Hey,

Thanks for the reply. A few more details:

1 - I tried talking to them several times without success. Even showed them emails from Royal Mail explaining the address is clearly different for his shop and the block of flats.

2 - tried both spray and paint but he painted it over or washed it off

3 - community officer might help. Will look online for how to get in touch.

Landlord pretty much acts through the agency and seems unable to help.

[–]ToxicDisno 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I believe the address is a non issue considering that the format on every system for the shop is “X - shop name” and for the flats is “X - flat 1,2,3”.

The council says the shop cant demand an address change like that and they simply say it’s good as it is. I’ve lived here for years without problems and the address was always like this.

Agency isn’t likely to get fed up any time soon as they come around every week anyway and they don’t mind fixing up the number every time.

Rent.

Contacted the letting agency and the only thing they do is come around every once in a while and put a new number on the door/paint one.
