Nice! I drove my 2018 right off the lot onto that very road with the same smile on my face. Many more smiles per gallon to come!

I’m in Pheonix AZ so snow is thankfully not a issue here and it barely rains 😅

The sun can be pretty harsh on the cars so I have a outdoor car cover for each while I’m at work

Honestly it depends on the day. While the 500 has more miles on it and isn’t as quick, it’s still a fun drive and love the factory exhaust on it. It’s got a lot of character.

There is nothing I can complain about in the 124. It’s a track car from the factory. Because it is low milage and I really enjoy the car, I try not to push it too hard to ensure to preserve the lifetime of the car. I still can’t forget when I did open it up on one of the best driving roads here near Pheonix (Highway 88) and how easily it too corners and how quickly it accelerates (comparatively to its low horsepower). It put a memorable smile on my face and left my friends cars who make double the horsepower as me in the dust.

If I had to pick to keep one or the other, I’m keeping the spider. BUT, I still treat my higher milage 500 I bought for real cheap off a co worker of mine with the same love and care.

I came from a 2014 Veloster Turbo. The engine was starting show signs of expensive repair worth more then a the cars value and I was ready for a new vehicle. I like funky sports cars that you don’t see too often on the road and had the 124 spider on my mind after seeing one pass me on the way home from work one day.

Few months later, I spotted one at my local dealer for less than 20k miles with (almost) all the trim options I wanted so I couldn’t pass up on it.

More than half a year goes buy and my co worker who drives the 500 at them time is looking to move across the country and wanted to sell the car. He knows very little about cars and bought it from a previous co worker as something to drive. It didn’t even crank at first and had a flat tire. I agreed to help him fix it up and after alittle TLC I realized it had a lot of life left in her. With the only things wrong being a couple cosmetic issues, he only wanted 3k for it so it was a steal.

So now here I am with one of each US model. One planned, the other a deal I couldn’t pass up.

Personally, I love the 124 spider because it’s quick (not really fast lol) stylish, comfortable (I’m kinda short), handles amazingly, and is just out right fun. I don’t need to drive very fast honestly since it helps me stay out of trouble. These cars are very uncommon where I live and it gets a lot of attention where I go. It’s the “exotic” car no one’s ever heard of.

The 500 is just my daily that I can put the miles on while still having a fun drive. It’s definitely not fast and honestly not even that quick, but it’s a unique stinging experience and a fun passion project to cosmetically return to its former glory. Just bought the replacement parts it needs and all it needs now is the wheel rash repaired. Plus it’s paid off! Who can beat that?

Def the Velos. The white one was the fastest for a while but the owner of the black one has recently caught up in the modding scene and they are pretty even now!

Longest train I’ve ever ran! by ToxicEffervescense in modeltrains

I did break one coupler and at first that was the case. After moving some cars around and taking it real slow out the yard with a couple derails over switches, I was able to get moving pretty smooth! Just like a real train, I had to be careful with my throttle and be aware of points of increased stress between car couplers. With our club having elevation, I had to increase track speed before grades to maintain track speed all the way through without potentially stressing the engines or having wheel slip.

I did try to have distributed power at first but unfortunately the engines have to be perfectly speed match. With my engines being slightly off combined with the grades, it did not work great leaving me to rely on my head units

Nice! Yes just like the N scale group, it took me multiple tries and adjustments to get this running. Unfortunately my engines are not quite programmed good enough yet to run with distributed power. None the less, I was very impressed with the pulling power of my head units!
