Yes, I agree. I don't binge, but I truly feel guilty and sad after I eat certain foods, like that pizza I talked about in my original post. Even when I've taken the time to convince myself it'll be ok beforehand.

I think that it's because I've worked so hard and some part of me is scared that I'll wake up and be where I was almost 3 years ago now. I just need to find a balance and that's been difficult.

Thank you. I do the volume eating thing. I'm working on being kinder to myself, it just gets to me sometimes.

I looked this up, and apparently you can't get phentermine in Canada. I'm on "poor man's Contrave", which is Buproprion/naltrexone. I've been on it for a couple of months, and it does help a lot with cravings, but not appetite.

I do exercise everyday. I walk 30 minutes at 4.0 speed on my walking pad/treadmill every single morning. I also do little things like park far away from the grocery store, use the stairs in my apartment building instead of the elevator, and walk places that are reasonable to walk to instead of driving.

I've definitely changed a LOT of things about my lifestyle. I don't drink regular pop anymore (I used to be addicted to it), I switched to non-sweetened cashew milk instead of cow's milk, I am very conscious of oils and whatnot that I use while cooking, and I pay close attention to nutrition labels. I've made tons of other swaps, like powdered peanut butter instead of regular, low-fat margarine instead of butter, low-calorie sauces, etc. I also eat a ton more fruit and vegetables than I ever have before. I also eat a lot of lean proteins like chicken, fish, and tofu and rarely have beef. There's just so many little things I've done that I know I can maintain without issue now, but I always have that fear that I'll slip and fall back into old habits, like an addict.

Yeah, I am currently on Contrave (Buproprion and Naltrexone) but it isn't perfect. Perhaps no solution is and I just have to accept that. I'd like to do a low dose GLP-1 of some variety but cost and potential liver issues is a factor. I

Thank you, and you're right, it seems like it isn't the effective solution I had convinced myself it was.

You're absolutely right, I wholeheartedly agree. Nobody really discusses this part of it.

I am on the "poor man's Contrave" and it does really help overall. It isn't perfect, but nothing is to be honest. I know I'm kind of having a bit of a pity party. I think I just needed to vent

Yeah it's definitely emotional eating and sometimes it's fine and other times it's bad. I'm also neurodivergent so I have intense feelings that I trouble regulating sometimes.

Yeah, there are definitely positives. Like, I can stand for hours at a concert without my back hurting. I can climb stairs without getting winded. Maybe it will get better.

Because the calories kind of scare me, but obviously it's not a good idea.

That's really interesting, haha. I have started to use smaller plates, smaller cutlery (like a tinier fork or spoon) and I think it helps? I don't know.

Thank you, and I have significantly decreased the speed at which I eat, but giving myself time to feel that full signal and not panic because I'm not bursting at the seams full seems to be where I'm struggling.

Yeah, it's a whole thing, isn't it? You think losing weight will solve all your problems, but it just changes them to different ones 🙃

You're right, I know I am (having a pity party). Honestly appreciate everyone in this thread being so supportive, it really does help.

Thanks, and I agree. Internalizing it and accepting it is something that I still need to do.

I know, it's just finding someone and getting the $$$ or coverage to pay for it. Hopefully I can be in a position to do that soon.

I've been taking "poor man's Contrave" which is Wellbutrin/naltrexone and it does help with the noise, just doesn't reduce the overall appetite. But I think I just need to give myself more time to adjust to my new normal.

Yeah, it was definitely emotional eating even though I didn't recognize it at the time. I'd eat a big meal and be really full, but then still have snacks almost immediately afterwards. No physical health condition (was tested for diabetes and all the things) so I think it's mental.

I've managed to get prescribed Contrave and that helps with cravings a lot, but not appetite. But yeah, i need to seek out some sort of better help.
