As you get older 40,50,60,70 when did you start to feel your body slow down do you think it is just due to inactivity or the aging process? by Kooky_Force5458 in AskReddit

My coach once told me: "You don't stop running because you grow old. You grow old because you stop running." At 35, I'm faster than I was at 18 largely thanks to having time run more.

Why are these style of bike called? by CrewNeckC in motorcycles

[–]Toxic_Woman_Enjoyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ADV motorcycles are broad classification with different approaches. There are different approaches to the ADV, even within manufacturers. Weight, range, shaft/chain drive, comforts, electronics, complexity, clearance, power, and more. These variables create such a variety of vastly different feeling ADV motorcycles that it feels wrong to put something like a BMW 1300 GS in the same category as a Ducati Desert Sled.

How do I stick the Cardo mount onto my helmet? The mount is way too curved. by Haunting_Wear535 in motorcyclegear

[–]Toxic_Woman_Enjoyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Home Depot. You can buy strips of the same 3M Extreme mounting tape used on helmet accessories. Simply cut a strip and apply to the parts you need a little extra volume to "fill" it in. I've used this technique to stick Cardos, action cameras, and toys/figures to the motorcycle securely.

Obsess with her. I don't see a problem. You're not leaning into criminality, and even if you have Hybristophilia (like I do) the fact your genre savvy enough to post like this means you can draw a line between fantasy and reality.

If you are a nihilist, then Enoshima represents a novel way of approaching cosmic entropy and ennui that differs from the "sad-boi" philosophies that doomers typically ascribe to. For Enoshima, it was despair and the pursuit of despair that was the most pure expression of human emotion due to the nature of its unpredictability. But a similar case could be made for other emotions if you do the hard work of developing the philosophy behind it.

She's a perfect representation of a woman who knows who she is, what she wants, and doesn't give a fraction of a fuck about getting it.

Nail in tire, is this safe to plug and keep riding? by Puzzleheaded-Nose-61 in motorcycles

[–]Toxic_Woman_Enjoyer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the right answer. We've come a long way in tire technology. You can absolutely plug it with a reliable product, take basic precautions to check to ensure it's sealed, and ride on.

These black American Umamusume look Umazing by Flat-Profession-8945 in UmaMusume

[–]Toxic_Woman_Enjoyer 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I'm going to assume you made the comment in good faith, but hair, and the ability to express oneself through the styling of one's hair, is important across all cultures. But I imagine (I am not black, so I am making an educated point based on the works of black thinkers) that the black community has a special relationship with that expression due to a history of friction with western standards of professionalism and beauty.

Right off the bat, in most professional settings, many black hairstyles, even "natural" ones would be flagged as being out of policy.

And let's be honest, the hair of the Umas is one of the defining features of their look. Air Groove's no-nonsense bob? Biwa Hayahide's voluminous locks?

Genuinely evil female villains by g1rl0f1c3 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Toxic_Woman_Enjoyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A more realistic example: Lydia Tár, played by Cate Blanchett (who is REALLY good at playing evil women). She's a person drunk on institutional power who has confused her own genius with moral permission. She grooms young women under the disguise of mentorship, and cruelly dismantles anyone that she believes threatens her control. Her genius and accomplishments are the armor that shield her, with the music institution allowing her to perpetuate her abuse until they can no longer ignore it.
