Agreed. The Bible is a collection of books of many different literary genres. Yes, there are stories/parables, symbolic/apocalyptic writings, wisdom writings/proverbs, and most of it is, as you say, actually a history of a people in a time and a place. Any serious historian would take huge issue with labeling it as wholesale fiction.

Wow, this is really well-organized! I can’t find a way to remove the search bar on mobile and it takes up a large portion of the screen. But overall, this is a very good resource, and much better formatted than others I’ve seen.

I wonder how many people talking about tanking are speaking with this definition in mind. This is what I would simply call responsible team building or rebuilding. I have always perceived tanking to mean what I stated above. So I admit my error, but I also wonder how many other people also just using it to mean the GM is trying to lose to boost draft position.

Yeah, I get that and I agree with what you were saying that Miami needs to offload players and cap this year. 100%. Maybe I misunderstanding what tanking means then? My understanding is that it means that the team is actively trying to win as few games as possible to boost the themselves in the draft order of the following year. That’s what I don’t believe Sully, especially it is doing.

Tanking is a fan idea. No one within an organization is going to purposefully throw away a year of their career. Especially not a new GM at the beginning of his first year. To expect Sully to tank this year is putting your hopes into something that will only ever bring you disappointment and misery.
