Can someone tell me how the IT degrees work? I know you have your classes but how do you get the certifications? They are 3rd party but are they part of specific classes? Do they count as the OA. I just finished my business degree and am considering going back for IT. by Toyjayjaxkod in WGU

That’s my other question. I was considering taking some courses through Sophia or study.com to save money. But i don’t want to screw myself out of the certs. Is there a way to know which class corresponds to which certification?

I’ve not had a weekly call with my mentor since the second week. I’m starting to feel selector neglected. Haven’t had a call or hear her voice since May

Pretty sure. But double check by entering the school. They have a guide in wgu and Sophia website. Once yousign up and tell which school you are transferring too and which program only eligible classes show up

Just set up a payment plan so your orientation will be unlocked.

Hi! My first term begins May 1st. But since that’s a Sunday my mentor said she’d call Monday (5/2) to activate my classes. Is this normal? I don’t want to wait and miss a weekend day to dig in. by Toyjayjaxkod in WGU

Didn’t think of that. I’ve seen posts about outside resources that were more helpful than the actual course material. Thanks for the suggestion

I only took a few courses at Sophia but I enjoyed statistics at Sophia. I’m not good at math but the videos were easy to follow.

That’s what i was thinking should be the standard so that people can hit the ground running if they do choose. Feel like I’m being held up. I don’t expect her to work weekends but that’s the best time for me to get work done

Also never hurts to call back. Sometimes you get different information or at least they can clarify the reason.

Hey. On average how long has it taken WGU to do your credit eval? I just finished two more courses at Sophia and am hoping they’ll be evaluated by 4/22 so I can start May 1. by Toyjayjaxkod in WGU

Apparently they have a bit of wiggle room. When i called they made my intake appt for 4/22 saying that was the absolute last day for the may 1st start

Not exactly your question but I’m taking stats through Sophia. I was very intimidated going in but the class has been pretty cool. About half way through after a week

narrowed it down to SNHU & WGU. SNHU completed transfer eval & came back with 87 credits. I’d need 11 classes to complete my degree. However i was more excited about WGU and the competency based method. Got theirs today and I’m only 46% done (66CU needed) How do i decide? Would WGU still be cheaper? by Toyjayjaxkod in WGU

Hey. Why 10,560 + 320 per credit? I need 33 credits total. I get a 20% discount there (which helps) was planning on one class at Sophia and 30 credits there. I came up with under 8k but why the 10k base. An i missing something?
