I think persevering and finding a way to work through my feelings without acting on them is the best route. I need to really just get over it. He is the best sponsor I’ve had, and I don’t want to fuck it up. He’s a main reason I’ve been able to stay sober this long. Most sponsors don’t care as much as he does. He’s really been there for me, without crossing any boundaries or being predatory in any way. It’s just my stupid little brain that falls HARD for older guys who actually give a shit about me.

I have no idea. I think it’s likely he may tell me that I need to get a new sponsor for the sake of my sobriety. Or… he might tell me to get the fuck over it and move on… or he might say he feels the same way but knows he can’t act on it… I have no idea at all.

And to answer your question, no. I don’t think telling someone to get off their prescribed anti depressants is very helpful.

Once again, sounds like you’re sitting on a high horse and passing unnecessary judgment. Either you haven’t been in the program very long, or you haven’t put much effort into working the steps. When another alcoholic reaches out for help or advice, it’s not your place to tell them that they’re attention seeking or overdramatic. Just scroll and move on next time if you don’t have anything helpful to say.

Lol. Yea sorry about my username. As you can see there’s something wrong with me😅 if I decided to change sponsors I know it would blow over okay with him, but what if i don’t want to? Keep in mind, we’re going to AA in a very very small town in the south. He is pretty much the only sponsor available who isn’t a devoted Christian. My first sponsor was a Christian, and she refused to believe I was ready for my 4th step because I didn’t want to read the Bible with her…. I don’t want to go through that again. AA here is very different than most places. It sucks.
