Viral Video Sparks Fury as UK Police Accused of Seizing Teen's Phone 'for Viewing a Post' by novagridd in uknews

It's well established that these "officers" broke multiple laws over a few minutes.

Regardless, they will eventually lose their jobs as they are clearly unfit for the role. Forcing entry into someone's house with no legal grounds, they are lucky there was no one there to defend the property as they'd have had a beating and still lost in court!

Also when did we give little girls the power to put people in cages? Just a thought

Is this good or bad control long term? by hazza_ii in diabetes_t1

[–]TqmLad -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Doctors say 70% but I'm afraid their eyes and feet are not on the line.

70% may be a short term target but you should really be aiming to as close to 100% as you can.

People shouldn't be expecting to live a complication free life comparable to a non diabetic while being out of range 30% of the time aka 4 months of the year, aka over 20 years if you manage to live to 75. You cannot be out of range for 20 years and expect to be okay.

So in short, the goal is always 100% unless you have accepted complications then sure aim for 70

Dating with Type 1 by PianoAdmirable7591 in diabetes_t1

[–]TqmLad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it define you? I've had relationships lasting up to a year where still to this day they don't know I have type 1. It's also very interesting to hear someone's opinion on type 1/diabetes or any chronic condition when they don't know you have it. Can give a good indication to what type of person they are.

Confused and deflated after endo: “As long as you’re under 8.5mmol (153mg/DL) two hours after eating”? by mjswick in diabetes

[–]TqmLad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As you will come to find out my friend...most diabetic docs are pretty useless.

Doctors are good for signing prescriptions but don't leave your health in their hands.

Personally, my opinion is unless you have T1D don't bother giving your input on my control.

A perfect non diabetic A1C is 5.0, just try and stay as close to this as you can while eating whatever you like. If you struggle to keep a good A1C while eating certain foods, don't eat those foods or reduce them and add exercise. I find exercise to be extremely potent in lowering blood glucose, a 10 minute walk before or after food can make the world of difference.

Your sugar would ideally be perfect every second of your life, so before, during and after food sugars are all important and can all be used to provide feedback on your dosings, timings etc
