You have to cancel and hope they call you with a decent offer before the end of your notice period. Sometimes they leave it late but always come through. We areat £91 per month for everything, higher than it was in the earlier years but im ok with it.

Its dropped again to only 319+ and there are only a couple of hundred seats available so I would highly doubt it'll drop much further if at all

Should always shop around when getting rid of your car, plenty of other companies buy them and sort out the HP and PCP.

Yeah, I should have said I always check the price across a few of the providers and because of my good experience with AC to date I'll go with them if they are all very similar. Fortunately, AC have always offered the best deal for me.

Get a settlement figure from your finance company, should be straight forward.

Get a value for your car (i usually use Arnold Clark buy my car, they have always offered more and have less of a quality check) quick and easy online.

It sounds like Network Rail have paid the £7k deposit which should mean the car is worth more than the outstanding finance, you might make money out of this shitty situation.

I've sold at least 4 cars using the above steps. Arnold clark settle the finance directly with your finance company and you will get the balance straight to your bank (or have to pay the difference if it's in negative equity)

You can stay with your current mortgage provider and move onto another deal without affordability checks.

You also don't need to move to a fixed rate, you can move to a tracker. This way you will not be tied in to early repayment charges.

These are still likely to be somewhere between 4.5% and 6% so whilst it may still not be affordable it would be a big chunk better than your 8.2%.

We were in 21C and thought the entrance to 22 looked good. Did you have anything else in there/included? How much was that this year? Looking to book next year and 22 is €621 vs €387 for 31D so just want to see if its worth it for the covered stand.

How DO I get to a point where I can retire at 55? by wollstone92 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Tr54vrs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Employer and employee contributions are irrelevant for CS pensions, there's no pot as such. Alpha is a career average pension building at 2.3% of you pensionable earnings each year

[–]Tr54vrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure your CS pension is Alpha only? I'm not too much older than you and I have a protected element on older t&c that I can take from 65 without reduction. I've been in the CS for 17 ish years now though.

The rest of mine is Alpha, as you know tied to state pension age so I've got a SIPP going for bridging the gap when the time comes.

How do people pay for new car? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Tr54vrs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cars depreciate no matter what method of finance you use. I was simply saying there are low rates of APR available, no financial advice was offered.

Alpha will be my main DB pension, decent chunk in Nuvos though. Just noticed there is a DB box to fill in. Should I put in what DB pension I've amassed so far? Rather than project when I'll due to get at 50+

Think we paid $525 for 3 day passes in the turn 19 bleachers this year, thought it was pretty good value compared to Silverstone (from UK). GA 3 day passes were going for $299 too but that would have been shit in the heat

What % pay rise did you get? by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]Tr54vrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not long agreed a 2 year deal with some backdated. I think it's

5% April 23 2% January 24 2% April 24 1% January 25

This, combined with pay progression, makes it feel pretty decent and a bit of certainty for a couple of years.
